A surgical tool handle assembly can include a handle body and a tool locking mechanism. The handle body can have a tool receiving end for receiving a mating end of a surgical tool. The tool locking mechanism can be configured to securely engage the surgical tool mating end, thereby locking the surgical tool to the handle. The locking mechanism can include a ramp feature, a locking cam, and an actuation mechanism. The actuation mechanism can be configured to actuate the cam to engage the ramp feature as the cam engages the tool mating end to lock the tool to the handle. A surgical kit and a method of locking a surgical tool to a tool handle are also disclosed.

Surgical tool handle assemblies and related methods

An orthopedic instrument comprises a shell configured to be inserted into a cup-shaped site, a liner configured to be received within a cavity of the shell, wherein the liner has an aperture and a mating feature adjacent to the aperture, and a modular screw configured to be received within the aperture of the liner. The modular screw can include a first component that is positionable adjacent to a first side of the mating feature and a second component that is positionable adjacent to a second side of the mating feature. When assembled, the modular screw can be configured to rotate relative to the liner.

An apparatus and method for threading a curved hole and inserting a threaded, flexible implant into the same. A threaded, flexible implant, which includes a flexible shaft and external thread, is provided to facilitate fixation in a curved, threaded hole. The threaded, flexible implant has a variable thread pitch from the concave to the convex surface thereof, and the curved, threaded hole has corresponding thread pitches.

A modular prosthesis that may be implanted in a highly minimally invasive manner. Specifically, the modular prosthesis may include a neck and an anchor. Both the neck and the anchor are configured to be inserted and connected together through a lateral aspect of a long bone adjacent to the proximal end of the long bone. In one exemplary embodiment, the neck includes a body having a head end, configured for attachment to another prosthetic component, such as a corresponding articulating component, and an aperture extending therethrough. The anchor may be sized for receipt within the aperture formed in the neck. Additionally, the anchor may be configured such that the anchor engages the walls forming the aperture in the neck to secure the components together.
