Systems and methods for generating infrared radiation are provided. The systems and methods may generate, via one or more pump sources, one or more pump beams. The one or more pump beams may define a single beamline. The systems and methods may further generate, via a nonlinear optical converter, a first signal wavelength, a first idler wavelength, a second signal wavelength, and a second idler wavelength based, at least in part, on the one or more pump beams. The first signal wavelength and the first idler wavelength may be independently variable from the second signal wavelength and the second idler wavelength. The systems and methods may further output, via the nonlinear optical converter, a mid-wave infrared (MWIR) beam including three or more wavelengths in the single beamline.

Single beamline multiwavelength infrared radiation source

A system and process for testing and analyzing a laser beam is provided. The system and process allows for repeatable testing of a laser beam to provide a beam intensity profile while accounting for variation in measurements attributable to outside factors. The system and process further allows for simultaneous measurement and analysis of a laser beam having multiple wavelengths.

Laser characteristic processor

A hybrid laser countermeasure line replaceable unit and method of upgrading therewith is provided. The unit includes two generable laser beams, namely, a first pulsed laser beam and a second continuous wave laser beam. Further embodiments may have multiple pulsed and continuous wave laser beams as necessary. The two beams in this single unit either may be generated from a single gain medium or may be generated from multiple gain mediums inside the line replaceable unit. The two beams may be combined if necessary to provide greater likelihood of success as a countermeasure to defend against optically guided incoming threats to a vehicle, such as military aircraft.

Hybrid laser countermeasure line replaceable unit and method of upgrading therewith

The present invention provides method and apparatus for treating tissue in a region at depth by applying optical radiation thereto of a wavelength able to reach the depth of the region and of a selected relatively low power for a duration sufficient for the radiation to effect the desired treatment while concurrently cooling tissue above the selected region to protect such tissue. Treatment may be enhanced by applying mechanical, acoustic or electrical stimulation to the region.

Method and apparatus for photothermal treatment of tissue at depth

An opto-mechanical platform for supporting truncated optical elements having at least one substantially flat side surface is disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the opto-mechanical platform may be realized as an apparatus for supporting truncated optical elements having at least one substantially flat side surface. Such an apparatus may comprise a platform having a substantially flat surface area for supporting the substantially flat side surface of the truncated optical elements. Such an apparatus may also comprise at least one substantially vertical wall formed on at least a portion of the platform for providing mechanical rigidity to the platform.

Opto-mechanical platform

A technique for attaching an optical element to a structural element is disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the technique may be realized as an apparatus for attaching an optical element to a structural element. Such an apparatus may comprise an optical element formed of a material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion value, a structural element formed of a material having a second coefficient of thermal expansion value, and an intermediate element formed of a material having a third coefficient of thermal expansion value that is between the first coefficient of thermal expansion value and the second coefficient of thermal expansion value. The intermediate element is disposed between the optical element and the structural element such that thermal stress between the optical element and the structural element are transferred to the intermediate element.
