A digital advertising system includes an advertisements module that provides a number of digital advertisements for display on a digital display device. A digital sign module including the digital display device displays digital advertisements provided by the advertisements module, and captures video analytics data relating to previous viewers of the digital advertisements displayed by the digital sign module. A data mining module retrieves the video analytics data from the digital sign module and generates trained advertising models based thereon using a data mining algorithm. A content management system module coupled to the advertisements module and the data mining module receives the digital advertisements and the trained advertising models and generates a subset of the advertisements for display based on the trained advertising models.

Embodiments are generally directed to global optimal path determination utilizing parallel processing. An embodiment of an apparatus includes a central processing unit (CPU); a graphical processing unit (GPU), the GPU being capable of a plurality of processing threads; and a memory to store data for a system under evaluation, the system under evaluation including a set of nodes having a first endpoint, a second endpoint, and multiple paths between the first endpoint and the second endpoint. The apparatus is to determine a most energy efficient path between the first endpoint and the second endpoint utilizing parallel processing of a push and relabel graph cut algorithm. Performance of the push and relabel algorithm includes a plurality of process iterations, each process iteration including performance of a relabel operation, a push operation in a first direction, and a push operation in a second direction.

Global optimal path determination utilizing parallel processing

A deactivated passive user interaction sensor may be activated or deactivated on demand based on an expected use of the sensor. The expected use may be ascertained by detecting a predetermined user interaction at another sensor that is already active. Once the predetermined user interaction is detected, the active sensor may be deactivated and the sensor that is expected to be used may be activated. Total sensor power consumption may be reduced by providing a predetermined sensor activation and deactivation sequence for at least three sensors in a computing system based on predetermined user interactions with an active sensor. Methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer readable media are provided.

User behavior adaptive sensing scheme for efficient power consumption management

Feedback is introduced between a video CODEC and the intended communications channel such that the characteristics of the channel are used to drive multiple video output buffers. These multiple output buffers share an original temporal video reference, but have different subsequent temporal video images. The communications channel interface then picks the subsequent video image buffer that best matches the current conditions experienced by it. By using a predictor of the channel performance, the video algorithm can be tuned to provide video output buffers with the best guess of how the buffers should be configured. A number of subsequent histories of an image are buffered until the receiving channel indicates it is ready to receive the next. Then the appropriate output buffer having the corresponding temporal change in the video is used to supply the next frame change information to the receiving station.

A receiver receives information. A selector couples to the receiver to select a server based on the received information. A transmitter couples to the selector to transmit a multimedia stream from the selected server to a viewer via a network.

Wafer-level stage testing of semiconductor lasers can be facilitated by directing a light beam emitted from the semiconductor laser toward a direction different from a path of the light beam as originally emitted from the laser. A test structure can be coupled to a back facet of the laser and can include a first region separated from a second region by an inclined interface. When a light beam is emitted from the laser, the light beam can be received on the inclined interface and then directed toward a light detector for detection and evaluation.

Various monitoring clients are disbursed over the network. The monitoring clients receive the multimedia content and examine the digital watermark. Statistical information relating to the degradation of the content is then gathered by an analysis of the watermark.

An integrated selectable waveguide device is shown that compensates for misalignment problems between an output optical port and an input optical port. In one example, the output port is part of an active optical device and the input port is part of a passive optical device, and both devices are combined in a single module to form an integrated optical device. The integrated selectable waveguide device has a plurality of selectable waveguide paths that can be controllably used to route an optical signal from the active device into the passive device, though the two devices are misaligned (e.g., transversely offset) in the module. An optimum selectable waveguide path correcting for the misalignment is chosen through testing the output of the module for maximum signal intensity at each of the plurality of selectable waveguide paths.

A tunable optical dispersion compensator may direct a light beam onto a first optical component such as a diffraction grating to separate the light beam into discrete spatial elements. A first lens may image the spatial elements to effect a Fourier transform at a shaped phase optical structure where unwanted phase shifts between the spatial elements are compensated by changing time delays between the elements. An inverse Fourier transform may be performed on the compensated spatial elements to reconstruct a light beam for return to a fiber optical network.

An apparatus and method for generating an access identifier (ID) for a communications line of a communications network capable of providing a relatively low bandwidth channel and at least one relatively high bandwidth channel over the communication line. According to one embodiment, a virtual circuit is established with an access ID server using the relatively low bandwidth channel. An access ID is requested from the access ID server over the virtual circuit that will enable a circuit to be established using the at least one relatively high bandwidth channel.

A system, method, apparatus, and storage medium for establishing a data conference with an end point of a communications network. According to one embodiment, a node requests from the end point a reserved bandwidth for a data conference having a specified start time. The originating end point receives confirmation of the reserved bandwidth from the end point. The originating end point establishes the data conference with the end point within a predetermined time window around the start time.

A method and apparatus for converting light images into a series of charge stores that are output in predetermined subsections is described. An integrated circuit is provided having multiple light sensitive elements embedded on its surface. These light sensitive elements are coupled to the input gates of a series of charge-coupled devices that can be clocked in a manner that allows various charge stores created by the light sensitive elements to be sampled. The charge coupled devices are configured in a manner that causes the charge stores created by the light sensitive elements to be extracted in an order that corresponds to rows of subsections of an image.
