Systems and methods for operating a communication device. The methods comprise: obtaining a signal; allowing the signal to pass through a junction of a communication path to which a reflective frequency selective limiter is coupled; attenuating unwanted components of the signal using the reflective frequency selective limiter; and reflecting remaining components of the signal by the reflective frequency selective limiter so that the remaining components travel downstream along the communication path.

Systems and methods for frequency adaptive spurious signal suppression

Systems and methods for reducing detection and interference of signals communicated from a communication device. The methods comprise: coupling an RF-to-FSO converter to a port of the communication device; providing a first radio frequency signal from the communication device to the RF-to-FSO converter via the port; using the first radio frequency signal by the RF-to-FSO converter to modulate an optical signal; and emitting the modulated optical signal from the RF-to-FSO converter through free space.

Radio frequency over omni-directional free space optics

Reducing harmonics in a radio transmitter can involve using an electronically tunable harmonic filter (ETHF) in a transmit path at the output of an RF power amplifier stage to reduce harmonic signal components in the RF transmit signal. At least one filter characteristic of the ETHF is selectively controlled using one or more RF switch. The one or more RF switches that are used to control the ETHF can include a CMOS-SOI and/or a MEMs type of switch. Various filter characteristics of the ETHF can be controlled including a bandwidth and/or a center frequency of the ETHF.

Agile harmonic filtering

An RF device may include RF circuitry having a PIN diode configured to switch an RF signal, and a biasing circuit. The biasing circuit may include a controllable power supply having a control input and an current output coupled to the PIN diode to selectively bias the PIN diode into an ON state, and a feedback circuit coupled between the current output and the control input of the controllable power supply to set a current delivered to the PIN diode in the ON state.

A wireless communications device may include an RF transceiver. The RF transceiver may have a first connector, an RF transceiver circuit coupled to the first connector, and a probe circuit coupled to the first connector and configured to place a DC supply voltage on the first connector. The wireless communications device may include an RF antenna assembly to be coupled with the RF transceiver. The RF antenna assembly may have a second connector configured to be mated with the first connector, an RF antenna element coupled to the second connector, and an antenna ID circuit coupled to the second connector and configured to be powered from the DC supply voltage and modulate the DC supply current indicative of an ID of the RF antenna element. The probe circuit may be configured to determine the ID of the RF antenna element based upon the modulated DC supply current.
