A system and method for processing a machine-readable code associated with an object moving relative to an imaging device may include imaging the machine readable code. A determination may be made as to whether image data of the machine-readable code is clipped along a leading edge of a first image frame. If the machine-readable code is determined to be clipped, (i) image data of the machine-readable code in the first image frame may be skipped, and (ii) image data contained in a subsequent image frame may be processed. Otherwise, if the code is not determined to be clipped, processing image data in the subsequent image frame may be skipped.

Data processing reduction in barcode reading systems with overlapping frames

Systems and methods are provided for determining attributes (such as size and location) of target objects (e.g., tires) utilizing photoelectric sensors. At least two photoelectric sensors are positioned at respective angles relative to a direction of transport of a conveyance mechanism such that the light rays emitted therefrom cross the width of the conveyance mechanism and cross one another at an intersection point. Based, at least in part, upon respective interruption times of the light rays by the target object, and a location of the interruption of the light rays relative to the intersection point, one or more attributes of the target object are determined. Systems and methods further are provided for determining a height profile of a target object utilizing at least one photoelectric sensor.

Determining object attributes using photoelectric sensors

First and second reflective portions are angled (e.g., included angle of approximately 178 degrees) with respect to one another to produce a parallax image of a structured light pattern (e.g., linear pattern) projected onto a surface of an object to determine at least one dimension (e.g., range, height, width) associated with the object. The reflections may be detected by a light sensor (e.g., a single linear image sensor) as dual 'differential' parallax images of the structured light pattern, which advantageously inherently causes errors to cancel out.

Scanners, methods, and computer storage media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that process variable sized objects with high package pitch on a moving conveyor belt are provided. The scanners include a substrate and a plurality of sensors attached to the substrate. The plurality of sensors forms an array of sensors having at least two or more rows of off-axis sensors. The sensors may include a one or more area array sensors. The arrays of sensors captures moving objects row by row and are optimized reduce object spacing on the conveyor belt. Additionally, the scanner having the array of sensor may process different objects having different heights at the same time. Accordingly, object throughput on the conveyor belt is increased by reducing minimum object gap (e.g., processing of 'no gap' or non-singulated objects).

A system and method for reading a machine readable code associated with an object moving relative to an imaging device may include capturing a first image of the machine readable code at a first resolution. A second image of the machine-readable code with a non-integer pixel shift in alignment at the first resolution may be captured. An interleaved image may be formed from the first and second images. An image of the machine-readable code may be generated at a second resolution using the interleaved image, where the second resolution is higher than the first resolution.

Multi-frame super-resolution barcode imager

An automated officiating and player development system for a game played on a court with a net. The system utilizes arrays of optical imaging devices that are positioned near the net and face outwardly toward the two halves of the court. Each of the arrays scan across the court in two scan fields, wherein a first scan field projects across the court in an area below the an elevated second scan field. The second scan field is positioned a few inches above the first scan field. In this manner, any object that contacts the court from above must pass through both the first scan field and the second scan field. Separate arrays of optical detecting devices are positioned along the net. All the arrays produce pixilated images of any object they scan. A processor analyzes the pixilated images to identify the pixilated images of the detected objects.
