In a method of printing a transferable component, a stamp including an elastomeric post having three-dimensional relief features protruding from a surface thereof is pressed against a component on a donor substrate with a first pressure that is sufficient to mechanically deform the relief features and a region of the post between the relief features to contact the component over a first contact area. The stamp is retracted from the donor substrate such that the component is adhered to the stamp. The stamp including the component adhered thereto is pressed against a receiving substrate with a second pressure that is less than the first pressure to contact the component over a second contact area that is smaller than the first contact area. The stamp is then retracted from the receiving substrate to delaminate the component from the stamp and print the component onto the receiving substrate. Related apparatus and stamps are also discussed.

Printing transferable components using microstructured elastomeric surfaces with pressure modulated reversible adhesion

In an aspect, the present invention provides stretchable, and optionally printable, components such as semiconductors and electronic circuits capable of providing good performance when stretched, compressed, flexed or otherwise deformed, and related methods of making or tuning such stretchable components. Stretchable semiconductors and electronic circuits preferred for some applications are flexible, in addition to being stretchable, and thus are capable of significant elongation, flexing, bending or other deformation along one or more axes. Further, stretchable semiconductors and electronic circuits of the present invention are adapted to a wide range of device configurations to provide fully flexible electronic and optoelectronic devices.

Controlled buckling structures in semiconductor interconnects and nanomembranes for stretchable electronics

A semiconductor device includes a gate on a semiconductor substrate. One side wall of the gate may include at least one protrusion and an opposite side wall of the gate may include at least one depression. A contact is formed through an insulating layer disposed over the gate. The contact at least partially overlaps at least one of the protrusions in the gate. A metal layer is disposed on the insulating layer. The metal layer includes a first structure shifted to a first side of the gate. The first structure at least partially overlaps the contact such that the contact electrically couples the first structure to the gate through the insulating layer.

Handshake structure for improving layout density

A decoupling capacitor includes a pair of MOS capacitors formed in wells of opposite plurality. Each MOS capacitor has a set of well-ties and a high-dose implant, allowing high frequency performance under accumulation or depletion biasing. The top conductor of each MOS capacitor is electrically coupled to the well-ties of the other MOS capacitor and biased consistently with logic transistor wells. The well-ties and/or the high-dose implants of the MOS capacitors exhibit asymmetry with respect to their dopant polarities.

Systems and methods for a continuous-well decoupling capacitor

A spacer lithography process for creating negative features such as, for example, cut-lines, or trenches, and holes is provided. The negative spacer lithography process may be utilized along with positive spacer lithography to fabricate electronic devices or the like. In one embodiment, a process is provided for fabricating a 6-transistor Static Random-Access Memory (SRAM) cell or arrays of 6-transistor SRAM cells using only, or at least primarily, positive and negative spacer lithography.

According to one exemplary embodiment, a test device includes a transistor situated on a substrate. The test device further includes a protection device coupled by a fuse to a gate of the transistor in an interconnect metal layer, where the interconnect metal layer is formed over the substrate. The fuse allows the protection device to be decoupled from the gate of the transistor prior to testing the transistor. The test device further includes first and second contact pads formed over the substrate and coupled to respective terminals of the fuse to provide access to the fuse. A current can be applied between the first and second contacts pads to cause the fuse to open to decouple the protection device from the gate of the transistor. The test device further includes an antenna coupled to the gate of the transistor with interconnect metal segments for accumulating electrical charge during wafer processing.

A method and device for control of a low-cost DC motor such as that suitable for portable or battery-powered applications are disclosed such that an intended behavior for the motor may be programmed without reliance on external equipment or specific expertise. The invention enables programming of a motor controlling device by means of physical manipulation of the motor. In other words, the invention allows for the training of a motor by demonstrating the intended behavior for the motor. The invention specifies a method of parsing an observation of the motor system into storable commands, while preserving information on motor response and conditions for execution. A motor controller device comprising an implementation of this method is also presented.

Integrated circuit and method for trainable control and operation of DC motor

A durable unitary lens filter is provided for use with a touch sensitive display device for associated control process equipment. A front cover secures the unitary lens filter to the machine. The lens assembly includes a mounting bezel that supports an intermediate lens securing an integral rear lens filter through which a responsive display shows process information to an operator. The front cover captivates the integral bezel to secure the lens to the associated process device. The lens is molded from a semi-rigid material composition including glass fibers. An internal retainer compressibly captivates the bezel against the front cover. The bezel periphery extends substantially beyond the outermost peripheral edge of the rear lens so that forces thereto are transferred and dissipated to the machine housing.
