A resource management system is disclosed for managing deployment of one or more mobile drive apparatus in a transport hub. The system can include a data input module configured to receive data from one or more data sources, said data relating to the transport hub. The system can include a process director coupled to the data input module and configured to: analyse the data received via the data input module and determine whether one or more threshold criteria has been met. The system can include a resource communication module coupled to the process director. The resource communication module can be configured to issue a command instruction to one or more mobile drive apparatus when the process director has determined that the one or more threshold criteria has been met.

System and apparatus for resource management

An article tracking system and method are provided. The system includes an article identifier, a location identifier, a mobile application stored on a mobile device, and a cloud platform. The mobile application combines article information from the article identifier and location information from the location identifier into a data packet and transmits the data packet to the cloud platform for storage. Creating and sending a data packet for each of a plurality of locations enables to system to record the location history of the article over time.

Article tracking system and method

Systems and methods are described for facilitating interaction between a ticket holder and a self-service function related to a ticket. Using a mobile device, a machine-readable code is scanned associated with the self-service function to retrieve an identifier of the self-service function and to activate an application or a web session on the mobile device. A first connection session can be established between the mobile device and a cloud broker service. A second connection session can be established between the self-service function and the cloud broker service. The cloud broker service can generate an end to end session via the first connection session and the second connection session by mapping an identifier of the mobile device with the identifier of the self-service function. The self-service function can communicate through the cloud broker service to the application of the mobile device.

Systems and methods for interactions between ticket holders and self service functions

A mobile drive apparatus () for use at a transport hub, having: a drive means configured to drive the apparatus () from a first location () to a second location () within the hub; a wireless communication module configured to form a wireless communications link with a resource management system (), and receive command instructions from the resource management system (); and a control means coupled to the drive means and coupled to the wireless communication module. The control means is configured to control the drive means to move the apparatus () from a first location () to a second location () within the transport hub, in response to receiving a command instruction from the resource management system () via the wireless communication module.

Systems and methods for facilitating interaction between a ticket holder and a self-service function related to a ticket are described herein. A mobile device can detect proximity to a self-service function. The mobile device can activate an application related to the self-service function. The mobile device can communicate with a beacon to retrieve an identifier of the self-service function. A first connection session can be established between the mobile device and a cloud broker service while a second connection session can be established between the self-service function and the cloud broker service. The cloud broker service can generate an end to end session using the first and second connection sessions by mapping an identifier of the mobile device with the identifier of the self-service function. Communications can be sent from the self-service function to the application of the mobile device through the cloud broker service including directional information.

Ticket information, such as an airline boarding pass may be stored on a mobile device. The presence of a geolocation device such as a Bluetooth beacon is detected by the mobile device in a departure location such as an airport. On detection by the mobile device of a further geolocation device when the mobile device is proximate a self-service function an application on the mobile device is triggered which directs the mobile device to a self-service function such as a bag drop and instructs the mobile device user how to use the self-service function.

A system and method for tracking an article is described. The article may be baggage passing through an airport terminal or another venue. The system comprises a beacon associated with a baggage article, a plurality of relaying bridges, and a tracking service. Short-range radio signals including a beacon identifier and a beacon transmission power are emitted by the beacon associated with a baggage article and detected by a plurality of relaying bridges. The relaying bridges calculate a received signal strength indicator (RSSI), convert the short-range radio signal to a relay signal and transmit the relay signal including a unique relaying bridge identifier and RSSI information via a network. The tracking service receives data from the relay signal, attaches a time stamp to the received data, stores the time-stamped data, and determines from the stored data the time when the article arrives at a point of interest.
