Aspects of this disclosure describe a multi-pass printer having a photoreceptor device mounted on an axis, a developer that is arranged adjacent to the photoreceptor device and is movable between a first position and a second position, and a camming mechanism mounted on the axis that acts upon the developer to urge the developer between the first and second positions. The camming mechanism can further include a camming disc that is mounted to rotate about the axis. The camming disc can also have an outer periphery edge having a first portion defined by a first radius and a second portion defined by a second radius. The camming mechanism can also have a developer roll spacing cam having an effective radius that maintains a spacing between the developer and the photoreceptor device.

Camming method and apparatus for controlling color developers for non-contact development

An apparatus and method for dampening annoying resonance noise in auger systems. The dampening effect is accomplished by an insert placed within an inner bore of an auger. The insert itself may be continuous or in segments and be comprised of material capable of absorbing vibrational energy. One embodiment of an insert is a tube that is purposefully cut longer than the auger itself in order to induce bending of the tube and contact with the sides of the auger bore.

A xerographic cassette for a printing or copying machine includes a photoreceptor drum, a cleaning blade, and a waste toner conveyor for conveying waste toner cleaned off the photoreceptor drum by the cleaning blade into the interior of the photoreceptor drum for storage. The conveyor includes a flexible helical wire which acts as an auger. A curved tube portion of the conveyor passes through an auxiliary waste toner container. Once the auxiliary container is substantially full, waste toner is conveyed into the interior of the photoreceptor drum. The auxiliary container is provided with an aperture which enables it to be emptied, thereby prolonging the useful life of the cassette.

The invention relates to a liquid dispensing apparatus suitable for use in the fuser of an electrostatographic recording machine such as, for example, a xerographic copier or a printer. The apparatus includes a trough (41), a wick (100) extending along its length and a roller (47) in contact with the wick (100). A metering blade (49) is located adjacent the roller (47) in such a manner as to scrape off excess liquid from the surface of the roller (47), the metering blade (49) being disposed relative to the wick (100) such that the excess liquid falls on the wick (100) thereby ensuring saturation of the wick (100). Return paths for the excess liquid are provided between the wick (100) and the wall of the trough (41) so as to prevent build up of the excess liquid above the wick (100).
