A heat sink includes a frame having a non-metallic body that includes a window. The non-metallic body includes at least one peripheral wall that defines a boundary of the window. The non-metallic body includes a non-metallic material. The heat sink also includes a heat exchanger having a base and cooling fins. The base has a structure side and an opposite environmental side. The structure side of the base is configured to thermally communicate with a structure for absorbing heat from the structure. The cooling fins extend from the environmental side of the base. The heat exchanger is held by the frame such that the cooling fins extend within the window of the frame.

A weapon includes a cover system that extends a length. The cover system includes an opening that extends through the length of the cover system. The weapon includes a barrel that extends through the opening of the cover system. The cover system includes a composite material that is configured to provide thermal insulation relative to heat emitted from the barrel.

Weapon with thermal management components

A socket is shown having an insulative housing surrounding a metal substrate. The substrate has an array of apertures which are located in spatially arranged order to accommodate the precise pattern desired for the device to be connected. Contact assemblies include stamped and formed contacts having an insulative plastic molded over a central section of the contact. The molded inserts are receivable in the apertures of the substrate and are later swaged to retain them and the contacts to the substrate. The substrates are located relative to a mating device by way of pins attached to the substrate. The pins are locked to the substrate by way of a locking device, whereby the pins are rotated and locked in place.

Socket having substrate locking feature

A socket is provided which has an insulative housing surrounding a metal substrate. The substrate has an array of apertures which are located in spatially arranged order to accommodate the precise pattern desired for the device to be connected. Contact assemblies include stamped and formed contacts having an insulative plastic molded over a central section of the contact. The molded inserts are receivable in the apertures of the substrate and are later swaged to retain them and the contacts to the substrate.

Metal contact LGA socket

A socket assembly is provided having a socket cover slidably mounted to a socket base. The socket cover includes a cam retention area containing a drive plate and a cam lever rotatably engaging the socket cover, socket base and drive plate. The cam rotatably engages, and applies torque forces to, the socket cover, plate, and socket base to slide the socket cover with respect to the socket base. The drive plate and the cam retention area include torque transfer members that engage one another. The torque transfer members are located at intermediate points with the drive plate and the cam retention area.

Reinforced socket cover assembly

Electrical connector for attaching conductors to speaker leads

A circuit card assembly (10) including a circuit card such as a terminator card (12) and a holder (14), insertable into a receptacle connector (20) of a mother board. Card (12) is snapped into the holder and maintained therein so that the assembly is manipulatable as a unit. Latch arms (56, 58) along side sections (52, 54) of the holder latch the assembly into guides (16, 18) of the receptacle connector.

Holder for circuit card

A connector 20 for disk-shaped batteries 102 includes a housing 22 with a battery receiving cavity 38, first and second pairs of side walls 30, 34 and first and second terminal-receiving slots 40, 54 for receiving respective terminals 66, 84 therein and located between the side walls of the first and second pairs respectively. Each side wall 30, 34 includes an inwardly directed retention flange 32, 36 respectively for securing the battery 102 in the housing 22. The base 24 includes a plurality of board standoffs 62 of sufficient length to permit portions of the connector base 24 to be flexed downwardly toward a circuit board 108 a sufficient distance to move the retention flange 36 of one of the side walls 34 outwardly thereby releasing the battery 102 from said connector 20.

Battery connector

A boot assembly (40) for an antenna (30) includes an elongate sleeve (42) and an end cap (60), the sleeve (42) having an opening defining an annular recess (44) dimensioned to receive the end cap (60) and be secured thereto in an adhesive joint. One of either the inner surface (46) of the annular recess (44) or the outer surface (62) of the end cap (60) has axially extending ridges (48) and the other of the inner and outer surfaces (46, 62) has corresponding axially extending recesses (64) dimensioned to receive the ridges (48) therein. The inner and outer surfaces (46, 62) provide a large adhered surface area and multiple shear planes that distribute stress upon impact and minimizing propagation of cracks in the adhesive joint thereby maintaining the integrity of the sleeve (42) and end cap (60).

Boot assembly for an antenna

A cover (10) adapted to be releasably secured to an electrical connector assembly (30) for positioning the assembly (30) to a surface of an electrical article (70) by use of a vacuum-suction nozzle (66). The connector assembly (30) includes a housing (32) having a transverse body section 33) and a plurality of electrical terminals (50) disposed therein and extending above the body section (33). The cover (10), which overlies at least a central region of the housing, has a plate (12) having planar top surface (14) and at least one projection (18) extending substantially perpendicularly from a lower surface (16) of the cover (10) intermediate the side edges thereof. The projection (18) is dimensioned to be received in a central location of the connector assembly (30) and to be releasably gripped by cooperating surfaces therein. The cooperating surfaces exert sufficient force against the at least one projection (18) to retain the cover (10) on the connector assembly during positioning of the connector assembly to the electrical article (70) whereafter the cover (10) is removable from the assembly (30).
