In one aspect, luminaires are described herein having sensor modules integrated therein. In one aspect, a luminaire described herein comprises a light emitting face including a LED assembly. A sensor module is integrated into the luminaire at a position at least partially overlapping the light emitting face. In another aspect, a luminaire described herein comprises a LED assembly and a driver assembly. A sensor module is integrated into the luminaire along or more convective air current pathways cooling the LED assembly or driver assembly.

A lighting device comprises rectification circuitry configured to produce rectified alternating current (AC) from input AC comprising a plurality of cycles. The lighting device further comprises lighting circuitry coupled to the rectification circuitry. The lighting circuitry comprises first, second, and third sets of LEDs. The sets of LEDs are configured to turn on in sequence at least twice per cycle to together develop an output level of at least about 2000 lumens.

LED luminaire

A luminaire has a light emitting portion extending between first second end caps to define a length between the first end cap and the second end cap. The first end cap comprises a receptacle and the second end cap comprises a post both of which extend in an insertion direction. The receptacles are configured to closely receive the posts and the insertion direction is disposed transversely to the length. A method of assembling a luminaire assembly includes positioning a first end cap of a first luminaire over a second end cap of a second luminaire; moving the first end cap relative to the second end cap in the insertion direction; and inserting the post into the receptacle. An electrical connector on the first end cap may connect with a mating electrical connector on the second end cap to complete an electrical connection between the first luminaire and the second luminaire.

An outdoor luminaire comprises a housing adapted to be mounted on an outdoor structure, an input disposed in the housing that receives AC power, and at least one rectification element coupled to the input and which produces rectified AC electrical power comprising a plurality of cycles. At least one LED driver circuit is coupled to the at least one rectification element and a plurality of LEDs is coupled to the at least one LED driver circuit. The LEDs are turned on at different points during each of the plurality of cycles and together develop an output level of at least about 2000 lumens.

An optical waveguide comprising orthogonal x- and y-dimensions and developing an illumination distribution pattern comprising orthogonal x- and y-extents, comprising at least one coupling feature for directing light into the waveguide, at least one light redirection feature for redirecting light in an x-y plane within the waveguide, and at least one light extraction feature for extracting light out of the waveguide in an illumination pattern comprising at least one of the x- and y-extents that is offset with respect to the x- and y-dimensions, respectively. A sensor module for a lighting fixture includes a light sensor and a sensor cover over the light sensor. The sensor cover includes a front surface and a light focusing surface opposite the front surface. The front surface is configured to face an area of interest that is generally illuminated by the lighting fixture. The light focusing surface is opposite the front surface and includes a number of lens sections, each of which is configured to focus light from a different portion of the area of interest toward the light sensor. By including a number of lens sections each focusing light from a different portion of the area of interest, a relatively large area of interest can be observed while maintaining desirable aesthetics of the sensor module.

In one aspect, luminaires are described herein enabling independent thermal management of driver and LED assemblies. For example, a luminaire comprises a driver assembly vertically integrated with a LED assembly, the driver assembly comprising a driver heatsink having an interior in which a circuit board assembly is positioned, and the LED assembly comprising an array of LEDs and LED heatsink, wherein a barrier is positioned between the driver heatsink and the LED heatsink, separating convective cooling of the driver assembly from convective cooling of the LED assembly.

A luminaire includes a housing, an optical waveguide disposed in the housing comprising a plurality of light coupling cavities, and a plurality of LEDs disposed in the housing adjacent the plurality of coupling cavities. A mounting apparatus is adapted to mount the luminaire on a roadway stanchion.
