Proposed are concepts for managing communication between off-premise and on-premise servers. A flow execution request from an application of an off-premise server or an on-premise server is received and a requested flow is determined based on the received flow execution request. Stored endpoint data associated with the requested flow can then be identified. The flow execution request is then communicated to an on-premise server or off-premise server based on the identified endpoint data.

A method and system for making a requisition for one or more items including providing a requisition module written as a service, using the requisition module to place one or more orders for one or more items, and monitoring the status of the one or more orders or the one or more items. When one or more orders is placed by a user of the module, an instant message or an email is provided to the user, wherein the instant message or email specifies the status of the one or more orders to the user.

Method and system for processing requisitions

A method and system for assisting a user having a role and a qualification. In accordance with this method, a software tool is provided that is adapted to limit a user to a functional limitation predefined by a first role and a data access limitation predefined by a qualification. The method comprises the steps of receiving a request for assistance from said user, accessing said software tool with a customer care role having a view functionality only limitation, and simulating said first role and said qualification while operating in said customer care role, to assist said user. In the preferred embodiment, the simulation functionalities that the customer care role has, enable that customer care role to simulate update and create functionalities. Also, preferably, the customer care role may use the user's identification to obtain access to the software tool.

A contract association method and system. The method includes receiving, by a computing system from a requester, a command for creating a service request. The computing system places restrictions on accessing contracts associated with suppliers. The computing system receives a selection of a first requested skill from the requester. The computing system selects a group of contracts applicable to a group of suppliers. The computing system generates a service request document comprising a selection of a first supplier from the group of suppliers, a first contract of the group of contracts, and the first requested skill.

An email generation method and system. The method comprises receiving and storing by a computing system, a first data object. The computing system comprises XML files. Each XML file comprises email templates. The computing system receives language identification data identifying a first XML file of the XML files. The first XML file comprises a first set of email templates. The computing system selects the first XML file in response to receiving the first language identification data. The computing system receives template identification data identifying a first email template of the first set of email templates. The computing system selects the first email template in response to receiving the template identification data. The computing system retrieves the first data object stored in the computing system. The computing system automatically generates a first email by incorporating first portions of the first data object into associated sections of the first email template.

Email generation method and system

A ranking method and system. The method includes receiving by a computing system from a first user, a selection for a first candidate skill. The first user is presented with a first group of predetermined criteria. The first group is associated with the first candidate skill. The first user assigns ranking percentage data associated with the first group. A list including portions of the assigned ranking percentage data assigned to each predetermined criteria of the first group is transmitted to a second user. The computing system receiving from the second user a list of candidates and responses to each predetermined criteria of the first group. The computing system receives from the first user, evaluation data related to the responses. The computing system ranks the candidates of the list based on the assigned ranking percentage data and the evaluation data.

Ranking method and system

A method and system for constructing rule-based intelligent agents that process events on behalf of one or more users. The intelligent agents have event-generating modules that supply events to be processed, and event-processing modules that process the events by evaluating rules. Each event-processing module of the agent includes multiple sets of rules, one or more such sets for each user of the agent. A selection key related to the user is associated with a rule set, and for event-generating modules a selection key indicates the user on whose behalf the event was generated. When the event-processing module receives an event with a selection key, the module locates and evaluates the rule set(s) which have a matching key to launch the corresponding actions. Addition, replacement or removal of rule sets for a user is made by temporarily suspending the initiation of new events for the user designated by the rule set's selection key; completing all in-progress events for that user; effecting the modification to the rule set within the event-processing modules; and the resuming the initiation and processing of events for the user. While the rule sets are being modified for a particular user, event generating and processing continues unimpeded for the other users of the agent.

Method and system for managing rules and events in a multi-user intelligent agent environment

A portable pencil pocket 10 has one or more compartments for holding pencils 40,42. The pocket is made of plastic webbing that is folded at one end to form a pocket 20 and at the other end to form a loop 22. A shower clip 50 holds the pocket 10 to an article of clothing, such as a belt loop or button hole.

A computer system provides registration of resource for synchronization point processing. Resources include file systems, data bases, and protected conversations. A resource becomes protected by the system when it is registered in the application's execution environment. The execution environment includes but is not exclusive to the interactive environment. Accordingly the invention provides an efficient and uniform method for identification of protected resources. The registration facility is separate from the application. Thus, the users of applications, application program developers, system administrators and operators need not have to consider or design a registration facility but only involve the one provided. A protected resource manager, through its adapter, can modify, at any time, the registration information, either by adding missing information or by changing the existing information. A resource registers only for the work unit in which it wishes to participate. An application could have several work units. A resource can register for two work units in the application or two resources can register for a single work unit or both.

Registration of resources for commit procedures

A computer operating system selects a one or two-phase commit procedure for resources to optimize the overall commit process. The optimization utilizes the more efficient one-phase commit procedure when possible and reserves the less efficient two-phase commit procedure for situations where the two-phase commit procedure is required to protect critical resources. If the resources include a protected conversation or two or more resources in the update mode then the two-phase commit procedure is utilized for these resources. Read-only resources or a single resource in the update mode that support one-phase commit are subject to the one-phase commit procedure. To further optimize the overall process, a plurality of resources are registered in a table, which table may reside in the operating system. The registrations include information about the resources and/or work requests which indicate what type of commit procedure is required. Thus, the operating system need not waste time consulting with resource managers after the registrations are made, before deciding what type of commit procedure is required.

Optimization of commit procedures by utilizing a two-phase commit

The signalling means is removably attachable to the rearmost portion of a trailered equipment, such as a power boat, and carries electrical lamps which are powered from the trailer electrical system. The lamps are set in a portion of the signalling means which is vertically disposable to present clear, illuminated signals to nearby traffic.
