An autoinjector system for injecting a fluid medicament into a patient includes a re-usable autoinjector, and a disposable cassette loaded with a hypodermic syringe pre-filled with a fluid medicament. The autoinjector includes a first motor for injecting a needle of the hypodermic syringe into the patient and a second motor for expelling the fluid medicament from the syringe.

A stackable beam module assembly and system for combining laser beams by recursive coupling of one or more beam modules whereby successive converging and diverging lenses having optical properties and an orientation in central beam channels and peripheral beam channels to direct the peripheral beams in a direction parallel to the central beams to thereby propagate a resultant beam having an increased power output directly correlated to the sum of the combined laser beams.

Stackable laser beam module assembly

A system for injecting a fluid medicament into a patient includes a drive mechanism, and a cassette loaded with a pre-filled hypodermic syringe. When the cassette is loaded, the syringe is held firmly inside and the cassette can be selectively engaged with the drive mechanism. The drive mechanism has two motors. A first motor initially moves the hypodermic syringe from a position inside the cassette where its needle is concealed, to a position where the needle extends from the cassette for insertion into a patient for an injection. With the needle inserted, a second motor pushes the syringe stopper to expel a fluid medicament from the syringe. After an injection, the first motor withdraws the syringe back into concealment inside the cassette, to again firmly hold the syringe on the cassette. The cassette and syringe, in combination, can then be removed from the drive mechanism and discarded.

The present invention relates to the field of shipping containers. Specifically, the present invention provides for an apparatus for enabling two non-standard shipping containers to be interconnected to form a standard shipping container.

Modifiable containers and interconnectors

An auto-injector confines all functional components inside an enclosed housing, to keep its needle out-of-sight, at all times. Within the housing, a needle holder positions a needle at a location. A drive mechanism then simultaneously engages the needle with a fluid source and accelerates it with a predetermined momentum for insertion into a patient. After fluid delivery, the withdrawn needle is moved to storage within the housing for subsequent disposal.

A biological delivery system particularly suited for delivery of protein compounds to animals and humans is disclosed. The system uses a producing microbe itself after suitable treatment by chemical and/or physical means. The product being delivered is contained within the treated microbial cell; it is produced intracellularly by a homologous (native) gene.

Cellular encapsulation of biologicals for animal and human use

The subject invention concerns pesticides comprising naturally-occurring pesticide-producing microorganisms, and the use thereof. Specifically, naturally-occurring pesticide-producing microorganisms are treated, for example with reagents, such as halogenating reagents, that prolong the activity of the pesticide produced in the cell, when the cell is applied to the environment of target pest(s).

Cellular encapsulation of biological pesticides

Methods and compositions are provided for preparing and using pesticides, where the pesticides are encapsulated in non-proliferating cells. The methods involve introducing a heterologous gene into a cellular host, where expression of the heterologous gene results, directly or indirectly, in production of the pesticide. These cells are then killed under conditions which prolong the pesticidal activity when said cells are applied to the environment of a target pest. The killed cells can be used directly or after formulation for treatment of an agricultural host or environment of the host with the pesticide.
