Various techniques for consumption of user-filtered data on a client device are described herein. In one example, a method includes storing a detected filter corresponding to an object list and generating a data request based on the stored filter, wherein the data request can populate the object list. The method can also include retrieving data from a data repository based on the data request in response to a detected action, the retrieved data comprising a subset of fields corresponding to at least one object to be retrieved. Additionally, the method can include updating the object list based on the retrieved data and displaying the subset of fields of the at least one object in the object list.

Consumption of user-filtered data on a client device

An integrated development environment displays a diagram that indicates relationships between code elements navigated by a user. The diagram provides a visualization of the navigation history of the user to allow the user to understand the code structure and flow of a program. A navigation history engine extracts the navigation history, generates the diagram, and displays the diagram adjacent to code displayed by a code editor.

The claimed subject matter includes techniques for storing sensitive data. An example system includes a processor and a computer-readable memory storage device storing executable instructions that can be executed by the processor to cause the processor to send authentication credentials to a service to request authorization to store sensitive data with the service. The example system also includes instructions that can be executed by the processor to cause the processor to capture sensitive data from a sensor on a device. The example system also includes instructions that can be executed by the processor to cause the processor to bypass storing the captured sensitive data in any non-volatile memory in the device and stream the captured sensitive data to the service from the sensor.

Organizing data where the data has spatial significance. A method includes, at a user interface, displaying to a user a representation of spatially structured data. User input is received at a computer implemented user interface through one or more hardware user interface devices. The user input is domain agnostic, but has a spatial connotation. Based on pre-existing structured data displayed at the user interface, a domain is determined for the user input. Based on the determined domain, the user input is interpreted into a domain specific response. The domain specific response is consistent with the spatial connotation across a plurality of domains.

Creation, editing and navigation of diagrams

A diagram having initial visual design elements can be displayed on a computer display. For example, the diagram may be a computer software architectural diagram. Changes can be made to the diagram to produce modified visual design elements. The changes can be tracked as they are made, to produce change tracking information. The change tracking information can be processed to automatically highlight at least a portion of the modified visual design elements in a display of the diagram. Processing the change tracking information can include filtering the change tracking information to provide different highlighting treatment to some of the modified visual design elements corresponding to information that is filtered out.

Highlighting changes on computer diagrams

A method includes transmitting an interface to a display device, where the interface represents a view of at least a portion of a graph. The graph is based on a model of a system and includes a plurality of nodes connected by a plurality of links, where at least one node of the graph includes another node. The method includes receiving a command to store a placemarker corresponding to the view and storing the placemarker. The placemarker is selectable to restore the view at the interface.

Disclosed herein is user augmented reverse engineering, where, in one embodiment, during the generation of a graphical representation of a codebase, database, binary and the like, users may be provided with an option to 'focus'. For example, during the graphical generation of a large codebase, a user may select one or things to limit the extent of the graphical representation generation. In another embodiment, a graphical generation may encounter one or more pre-defined boundary conditions. Upon encountering a boundary condition, the generation of the graphical representation may determine that it is unable to complete the graphical generation within a pre-defined set of requirements without additional instructions. Thus, the graphical generation may complete and then prompt a user for solutions to any boundary conditions it has encountered, or the generation may pause at each boundary condition it encounters and prompt a user for a solution to the boundary condition.

User augmented reverse engineering

Local areas of a visualized modeling language diagram are viewable at different levels of detail without losing information such as model elements and their connectivity. Multiple elements are associated with a group element, which has a visual portion derived from the appearance of a group member element. Connectors between group member elements and non-member elements are suppressed in favor of replacement connectors between the group element and the non-member element(s). The integrity of incoming and outgoing connections to the group is maintained relative to the rest of the model. Ungrouping elements restores the elements to their original state. Grouping can be applied locally to one or more parts of the visual model.

Localized information-preserving levels in model visualization

Embodiments are directed to determining an appropriate neighborhood region for updating a node layout of an interactive diagramming system. A computer system receives an input indicating at least one change to various selected nodes displayed in the interactive diagramming system, where the changes to the selected nodes affect the positions of the other nodes on the node layout. The computer system traverses adjacent node edges to determine s minimal node neighborhood to which the node changes are to be applied. The computer system accesses diagram parameters that identify diagram and node characteristics and determines the minimal neighborhood region based on both the determined number of adjacent nodes and the accessed parameters. The computer system also updates the position of the selected node and the updated positions of those nodes and corresponding edges that are determined to be within the neighborhood region.
