The present disclosure relates to stable cosmetic compositions for delivering high amounts of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and ceramides to the skin, products containing such cosmetic compositions, and methods for treating skin using the cosmetic compositions. The cosmetic compositions include ascorbic acid, one or more ceramides, panthenol, one or more monoalcohols having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, one or more polyols, one or more fatty compounds, one or more emulsifiers, one or more cationic surfactants, and water. The cosmetic compositions are particularly useful for treating the effects of skin aging, for example, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and improving skin tone.

Cosmetic composition comprising vitamin C and ceramides

A water-releasing photoprotection composition in the form of an emulsion and process for preparing the photoprotection composition are provided. The photoprotection composition includes an aqueous phase and an oil phase. The aqueous phase includes at least one water-soluble UV filter. The oil phase includes dimethicone and an emulsifying crosslinked siloxane elastomer. The photoprotection composition has a phase ratio of the aqueous phase to the oil phase of from about 3 to about 12. The photoprotection composition converts from an emulsion to a plurality of droplets upon application of shear.

Photoprotection composition containing high levels of water-soluble UV filters

A water releasing composition in the form of an emulsion and process for using the composition are provided. The composition includes an aqueous phase and an oil phase. The aqueous phase includes at least one water-soluble active ingredient at a concentration by weight of from about 0.1% to about 20%, based upon weight of the composition. The oil phase includes dimethicone at a concentration by weight of about 1% to about 25%, and an emulsifying crosslinked siloxane elastomer at a concentration by weight of about 0.1% to about 20%, both based upon weight of the composition. The composition has a phase ratio of the aqueous phase to the oil phase of about 3.0 to about 12.0. The composition converts from an emulsion to a plurality of droplets upon application of shear.

Carrier system for water-soluble active ingredients

The present invention is directed to an aerated composition comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium, an oily phase dispersed in an aqueous phase, characterized in that it contains air or inert gas in a sufficient amount to have a relative density ranging from about 0.2 to about 0.9 (g/cm) measured at a temperature of approximately 25&#xb0; C. and at atmospheric pressure, and in that it comprises at least one modified starch, at least one emulsifier, and at least one oil-dispersible structuring agent.
