A system, method, and device for monitoring a parameter downhole. The system comprises a conveyance string locatable in the wellbore, a sensor and a recorder located on the conveyance string, and a processor in communication with the recorder. The recorder comprises a sampler in communication with the sensor, and the sampler is operable to sample the measured parameter at a sampling rate of 150 kHz to 10 MHz. The recorder also comprises an information storage device in communication with the sampler and operable to store the samples acquired by the sampler. The processor is operable to monitor the parameter based on the samples collected by the sampler.

System, method, and device for monitoring a parameter downhole

The present disclosure relates to systems, assemblies, and methods for facilitating fluid flow during/after landing of logging tools in a bottom hole assembly. In operation, a memory logging tool is lowered through a longitudinal bore of a drill pipe string and landed in a bottom hole assembly disposed at the end of the drill pipe string. Drilling fluid is pumped behind the logging tool to assist with downward movement of the tool. As the logging tools land, partial fluid flow path is blocked by the logging tools. The fluid pressure can rise in response to the narrowing of the fluid flow path. Facilitating fluid flow through and/or around the logging tools can put the rising fluid pressure in a proper range for powering the logging tools to land and monitoring purposes.

A latching assembly for wellbore logging tools includes a bottom hole assembly to be disposed on a distal end of a drill string. The bottom hole assembly includes a landing sub having a bore with a latching mechanism that includes latch jaws and bias springs. The latch jaws can receive a landing shoulder. The biasing spring has a closing arm and an opening arm to respectively close and open the latch jaws. The bottom hole assembly includes a tool string that includes the landing shoulder for engaging with the latch jaw of the landing sub, the biasing spring, and a logging assembly that includes at least one logging tool for obtaining and storing data about at least one geologic formation penetrated by the wellbore.

Latching assembly for wellbore logging tools and method of use

An assembly using an onboard controller employs sensors to precisely determine the landing status of downhole logging tools. A control algorithm of the onboard controller can enable an intelligent management of the battery system and memory system of the logging tools. Sensors are used to verify landing having been reached. The sensors may include a real time clock, a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, and a proximity/position sensor. The sensors can send measurement signals to the controller for determining if the measurement values are within an acceptable range indicating the logging tools having landed. As a correct landing has been confirmed or verified, the controller can trigger an onset for data logging (e.g., powering up the battery system and/or memory system). A method of determining landing of a logging tool in a wellbore is disclosed.

Method and assembly for determining landing of logging tools in a wellbore

A method for conveying logging tools (LT) and obtaining well log data from a wellbore is disclosed. The method includes running a drill string (DS) including a landing sub (LS) disposed near the lower end into a wellbore. A logging tool string (LTS) is inserted into the upper end of the DS bore. A fluid is pumped into the upper end of the DS bore to assist movement of the LTS. As the fluid is pumped behind the LTS, the cable at the surface is spooled out and the fluid pressure is monitored. The landing assembly of the LTS is landed in the LS. A diagnostic test is activated and run to determine proper functioning of the LT. A release mechanism releases the running tool portion of the LTS. The cable is spooled in. The drill pipe string is pulled upward in the wellbore as the LT are recording data.

Method and assembly for conveying well logging tools

A method of communication from the surface with to the downhole logging tool string is disclosed. The method includes movement of the drill pipe string up or down at the surface to create coded signature signals by the downhole logging tool string and send those signature signals to a processor in the downhole logging tool string that has been preprogramed to recognize the signature signals.

Some embodiments include a process of removing a previously-existing lead finish, and applying a new finish to the lead to improve solder operation compatibility, as well as solder joint reliability in high temperature environments.

Conductive material compositions, apparatus, systems, and methods

A formation fluid sampling probe uses two hydraulic lines to recover formation fluids from two zones in a borehole. One of the zones is a guard zone and the other is a probe zone. The guard zone and the probe zone are isolated from each other by mechanical means, with the guard zone surrounding the probe zone and shielding it from the direct access to the borehole fluids. Operation of the tool involves withdrawal of fluid from both zones. Borehole fluids are preferentially drawn into the guard zone so that the probe zone recovers the formation fluid substantially free of borehole fluids. Separation of the guard zone from the probe zone may be accomplished by means of an elastomeric guard ring, by inflatable packers or by tubing. The device can be adapted for use either on a wireline or in an early evaluation system on a drillstring.

Focused formation fluid sampling probe

This invention provides a formation evaluation tool for collecting a formation fluid in a chamber at a predetermined pressure and for maintaining the pressure of the collected fluid at a desired level during the retrieval of the chamber to the surface. The formation fluid is pumped into the chamber while a piston exposed to the hydrostatic pressure maintains the chamber pressure at the hydrostatic pressure. During retrieval of the chamber, the pressure in the chamber is maintained at a predetermined level by pumping wellbore fluid to the piston. A control unit at the surface is utilized for controlling the operation of the formation tool.

Formation tester with improved sample collection system

A fluid flow velocity measuring device is shown. In the preferred and illustrated embodiment, an elongate body receives a removable spinner cartridge assembly. The assembly is formed of an elongate sleeve surrounding a rotating shaft supported by bearing assemblies at opposite ends of the shaft. The shaft supports a spinner. Particular sizes of spinners are calibrated to a particular flow velocity ranges and density of material. The insert is held in position by a compressed spring behind the insert so that fluid flow is directed from an inlet port in the tool adjacent a petal basket, along an axial passage in the tool, and through the spinner and out through an outlet port.
