A downhole device and a method of performing an operation in a borehole. The downhole device includes an outer sleeve defining a bore therethrough, an inner sleeve disposed within the bore and axially movable with respect to the outer sleeve between a first position and a second position, the inner sleeve defining a flow passage, and a seat member in the flow passage for seating a ball when the inner sleeve is at the first position. A ball is seated at the seat member. A fluid pressure on the ball moves the inner sleeve from the first position to the second position, moves the seat member radially outward out of the flow passage when the inner sleeve is at the second position, and pushes the ball out of the flow passage.

Shifting sleeve with extrudable ball and dog

An assembly and a method of performing an operation in a borehole. The assembly includes a plug, and a retrieving head rigidly coupled to the plug in a locked configuration. The retrieving head includes a lock disposed therein comprising a housing, a mandrel, and a ball seat. The ball seat is secured to the housing at a first seat location when the assembly is in the locked configuration. The assembly is conveyed assembly in the borehole. A ball is dropped through the assembly to seat at the ball seat. A fluid pressure created at the ball moves the ball seat to a second seat location within the housing to place the assembly in an unlocked configuration. The mandrel is shifted to allow the retrieving head to move axially in the unlocked configuration.

Extrusion ball actuated telescoping lock mechanism

A clutch mechanism of a downhole assembly and a method of operating the assembly in a borehole. The clutch mechanism includes a plug including a mandrel and a wall-engaging component, a sub of a ball valve, the sub coupled to the mandrel, a torque lock nut of the ball valve, the torque nut coupled to the wall-engaging component, and a clutch of the ball valve. The clutch is moved axially against the torque lock nut to engage the torque lock nut to the sub. A torque is applied on the clutch to rotate the sub of the ball valve via transmission of the torque from the clutch to the ball valve via the torque nut. Application of the torque against the sub actuates the ball valve.

Torque mechanism for bridge plug

An assembly and a method of setting a plug in a borehole. The assembly includes a first lock, a second lock axially separated from the first lock. The plug is located between the first lock and the second lock. A bore of the assembly passes through the first lock, the second lock and the plug. A ball is dropped through the bore and activates the first lock and the second lock to allow the plug to rotate into a set configuration in the borehole.
