A balance spring includes a strip of polygonal section wound on itself into several coils. At least one coil of the balance spring includes a coil spacer device including at least four stop members mounted on the same face and protruding from the thickness of the at least one coil of the strip. Each of the at least four stop members is arranged to enter into contact with the opposite face of another coil of the strip preventing the other coil from touching the at least one coil in the event of a shock.

A method of improving pivoting of a wheel set for a scientific instrument, including an arbor pivoting or oscillating about an axis, in which: static balancing of the wheel set is performed to bring the center of gravity onto the axis; a desired value is determined for resulting unbalance moment of the wheel set about the axis, corresponding to a predetermined divergence between a first principal longitudinal axis of inertia of the wheel set, and the axis; at a predetermined speed about the axis, the resulting unbalance moment is measured with regard to the axis; and an adjustment of the resulting unbalance moment is made within a given determined tolerance with regard to the desired value, and performed by machining both sides of a median plane including the two secondary axes of inertia of the wheel set.

Method of improving the pivoting of a wheel set

A method of improving the pivoting of a wheel set for a scientific instrument, including an arbor pivoting or oscillating about a wheel set axis, is provided. A static balancing of this wheel set is performed to bring the center of gravity onto this axis. A desired value is determined for the resulting unbalance moment of this wheel set about this axis, corresponding to a predetermined desired divergence between a first principal longitudinal axis of inertia of this wheel set, and this axis. This wheel set is set in rotation at a predetermined speed about this wheel set axis, and the resulting unbalance moment is measured with regard to this axis. An adjustment is made to the value of the resulting unbalance moment of this wheel set about this axis within a given determined tolerance with regard to this desired value.

A timepiece escapement mechanism, including a balance having no roller and an escape wheel, between which impulses are transmitted by a flexible, single-piece mechanism, connected by at least one flexible strip to a fixed structure or to the wheel. Oscillation is maintained by a balance spring ending in a balance spring stud which is mobile during operation, and which is guided by a flexible guide member with flexible strips, and whose center of rotation is coaxial to the balance, the balance spring stud receiving a pin which is mobile in a cam path of the wheel. During the oscillations, the balance spring stud is moved relative to its locking position under action of force exerted by the balance spring, and the pin maintains and regulates the oscillation.

Timepiece balance spring

An escape mechanism including a flexible single-piece mechanism for transmission of impulses between an impulse pin of a balance, and teeth of an escape wheel. Each tooth includes a lever with a pin that can be actuated by a lifting piece, a low level of the wheel carrying the pins on a same level as stop members of a plate, and a high level carrying the lifting pieces. The impulse pin pivots a lever opposite thereto, either to cause the pin to cooperate in abutment with the second stop member, or to move the lifting piece thereof opposite the first stop member and to cause the pin to bypass the second stop member, allowing the wheel to rotate to a next tooth.

Flexible escape mechanism with no pallet lever

An escapement mechanism for a timepiece movement or timepiece including at least one balance and at least one escape wheel. A transmission of impulses between the balance and the escape wheel is achieved by a single-piece flexible mechanism including at least one feeler spindle cooperating with the escape wheel or, respectively, with the balance, and the single-piece, flexible mechanism is connected by at least one flexible blade to a fixed structure of the timepiece, or respectively to the escape wheel.

Pallet lever for an escapement mechanism including a balance with a pin of a given pin radius and oscillating over a given radius of gyration, this pallet lever including two horns for cooperation with a pin of this type. These horns are symmetrical to each other relative to a median plane passing through a pallet lever pivot axis, and each includes a concave inner profile over a first radius of curvature greater than or equal to the sum of this radius of gyration and this pin radius, this concave inner profile being adjacent to a convex outer profile over a second radius of curvature less than or equal to the difference between this radius of gyration and this pin radius.

Lever escapement for a timepiece

The escapement includes a large platecarrying a first fingerand a blocking membercarrying a second fingerand a locking pallet-stone.
