In order to detect power production degradation of a solar power plant (SPP) with at least one photovoltaic module (PVM), by which the detection of power production degradation, affected for instance by long term aging or soiling of the photovoltaic module of the solar power plant, is automated and carried out sensorless, it is proposed to determine the degradation by calibrating local measurements of data related to module/plant-internal parameters (PT) such as irradiance I and temperature T or electric power P and temperature as measurement data (MD, MD, MDagainst irradiance reference data (RD) for instance satellite data in the form of weather data for the same time and then analyze a variation of the calibration.

A method and a device for the mutual monitoring and/or control of a multiplicity of autonomous technical systems which are at least partially interconnected to one another via a communication network is provided. A short-term cloud forecasting system includes a cloud segmentation processor that receives image data from images captured by an all sky camera. The cloud segmentation processor calculates a probability for each pixel in an image that the pixel is representative of a cloud. A cloud motion estimation processor calculates a motion vector representing estimated cloud motion calculates weights representing the likelihood that the cloud motion will cause a cloud to occlude the sun at a time in the near future. An uncertainty processor calculates one or more uncertainty indexes that quantify the confidence that a cloud forecast is accurate. Combining the cloud probabilities, the global motion vector and the at least one uncertainty index, in a sun occlusion prediction processor produces a short-term cloud forecast based on the image data that may be used as input to control systems for controlling a power grid.

A method for estimating grid properties of a power grid coupled to a generator at a point of common coupling is provided. First, a voltage Vat the point of common coupling is measured. Second, a current Iat the point of common coupling is measured. Third, the grid properties are estimated by a grid model using as input parameters the measured voltage Vat the point of common coupling, the measured current Iat the point of common coupling and the determined phase angle. Advantageously, the absolute phases of the voltage and the current at the point of common coupling are not necessary, which makes the present method less prone to errors due to measurement noise. The invention relates to a position-finding method for determing the location of a mobile object. The features, for example received field strengths, of a plurality of base stations are measured, and the object position is located from these features, using a reference map. During an initialization process, a reference map is created which comprises a multiplicity of positions and the associated feature-dependent values. During use of the method, a plurality of position-finding processes are carried out, by means of each of which a measured feature-dependent value and from this, a located position of the object, are determined using the predetermined reference map. The predetermined reference map is in each case updated for at least some of the positions found, during which updates, the feature-dependent values are each corrected by a correction term at the support points of the reference map in a predetermined area surrounding an object position.
