In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a fixed frame period (FFP) configured for the UE in a frame based equipment mode. The FFP configured for the UE includes one or more idle periods and a channel occupancy time that is offset from an FFP configured for a base station communicating with the UE over an unlicensed channel. The UE may refrain from transmitting over the unlicensed channel during the one or more idle periods. The one or more idle periods may at least partially overlap with a time period in which the base station refrains from transmitting over the unlicensed channel. Numerous other aspects are provided.

User equipment fixed frame period for frame based equipment mode in unlicensed spectrum

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining a time to stop monitoring a wireless channel for paging information. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may identify a plurality of paging occasions associated with a wireless channel (e.g., of an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band) and monitor the wireless channel for paging information from a base station during a first paging occasion of the plurality of paging occasions. The UE may determine a channel occupancy status of the base station with respect to the wireless channel and may determine a time to stop monitoring the wireless channel for paging information. The UE may ignore a remainder of the plurality of paging occasions based on the determined time to stop monitoring the wireless channel.

Paging with multiple monitoring occasions

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an open radio access network (O-RAN) distributed unit (O-DU) may generate, at an O-DU application that executes on the O-DU, a first message that does not make use of an O-DU accelerator of the O-DU that is in-line with the O-DU application. The O-DU may transmit, from the O-DU application to an O-RAN radio unit (O-RU), the first message via a passthrough of the O-DU accelerator, wherein the first message does not make use of the O-DU accelerator based at least in part on a payload of the first message being transferred unchanged by the O-DU accelerator to the O-RU. Intra-user equipment prioritization of transmissions

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to techniques for prioritized signaling via a functional application programming interface (FAPI). A method for conveying uplink (UL) payload may include receiving, at a physical (PHY) layer, a UL payload from one or more user equipments (UEs) and delivering different segments associated with the UL payload, to a medium access control (MAC) layer, in different messages via a functional application platform interface (FAPI). According to certain aspects, the different segments may carry UL payload with different priorities, and segments with higher priority UL payload may be delivered, to the MAC layer, prior to segments with lower priority UL payload.

A user equipment (UE) may identify a bandwidth part (BWP) to switch to after identifying consistent uplink listen-before-talk (LBT) failures on a first BWP based on parameters indicated by a base station. For example, the base station may transmit a switching parameter to the UE that the UE then uses to switch to a second BWP based on identifying the consistent uplink LBT failures on the first BWP. Subsequently, after selecting the second BWP, the UE may attempt to use the second BWP for uplink transmissions (e.g., after performing a random access procedure). Additionally, the UE may indicate the consistent uplink LBT failures to a base station associated with the failed BWP based on a type of cell that is using that failed BWP.

Uplink listen-before-talk failure recovery

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which wireless nodes may use licensed shared radio frequency spectrum band for communications and one or more neighboring networks may use a same licensed shared radio frequency spectrum band. A second network of the one or more neighboring networks may have priority of use of the licensed shared radio frequency spectrum band within a particular geographic area. Disclosed techniques provide that nodes of each network may indicate an identification of the network, a network priority, or both, in over-the-air signaling. Wireless nodes may determine if another neighboring network is present based on the over-the-air signaling, may determine whether the other network has a higher priority, and may adjust one or more transmissions in the event that a higher priority network is identified, such as through reducing transmission power.

Interference coordination in licensed shared radio frequency spectrum

Techniques providing opportunistic frequency switching for frame based equipment (FBE), such as may be configured to minimize opportunistic frequency switching delay in FBE new radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) networks and/or to provide frequency diversity FBE access based on offset sequences of medium sensing occasions for the carrier frequencies are disclosed. Within the FBE mode network, a base station may configure a pattern of sensing locations in each frame for each frequency transmission unit of the plurality of frequency transmission units, wherein an inter-unit delay of sensing locations between a first frequency transmission unit and a next adjacent frequency transmission unit and between a last frequency transmission unit and the first frequency transmission unit is a fixed duration. Opportunistic frequency switching of embodiments may utilize the medium sensing locations for opportunistically switching between a sequence of the frequency transmission units for implementing frequency diversity FBE access.

Opportunistic frequency switching for frame based equipment

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for wireless communication. A user equipment (UE) may acquire a triggering synchronization signal block (SSB), which enables the UE to monitor for a floating Type-2 physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and to determine a subset of paging occasions (POs) to monitor. Or, the UE may monitor for a fixed Type-2 PDCCH, where the UE does not require a triggering signal to monitors POs. In another aspect, the UE may monitor for a paging transmission during a monitoring period. The UE may determine the monitoring period based on received signaling. The UE may receive the signaling, during the monitoring period, indicating that the monitoring period is to be ended before a scheduled end of the monitoring period. In this way, the UE may support a continuity requirement associated with downlink reference signaling (DRS) and may support reception of paging in a shared channel.

Paging opportunity monitoring

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitter may include an interference avoidance preamble in a wireless transmission. The interference avoidance preamble may identify resources for transmitting an interference avoidance request associated with the wireless transmission. A receiver may experience interference between the wireless transmission and another wireless transmission, and the receiver may transmit the interference avoidance request using the resources identified in the interference avoidance preamble. The transmitter may receive the interference avoidance request and, in response, may enable an interference avoidance mechanism, for example, a listen before talk (LBT) procedure, a frequency-division multiplexing (FDM) scheme, a time-division multiplexing (TDM) scheme, a spatial multiplexing scheme, or a combination.

Listen after talk procedure

A discovery measurement timing configuration (DMTC) window reservation signal is disclosed for new radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) networks. The DMTC window is defined providing a reserved location for transmission of essential control signaling and potentially high priority traffic that may be transmitted in a prioritized manner. Access within the DMTC window may be provided with a clear channel assessment (CCA) exempt transmission (CET) option or a non-CET option. When the CET option is used, the reservation duration and period may be conveyed through the channel reservation signal. User equipments (UEs) that detect the reservation signal may re-transmit with added offset to inform neighboring base station that may not be within range of the serving base station. Base station that receive either the transmitted or re-transmitted reservation signal will refrain from communications that may interfere with the reception at the UEs.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device may cooperate with a second device to form a virtual device configured to communicate with a radio access network. The virtual device may appear as a single device from the perspective of the radio access network. Subsequently, a third device may be identified for replacing the second device within the virtual device. Based on the third device being identified, procedures for handing over communications from the second device to the third device may be executed. The procedures may include a beam management procedure, a random-access procedure, a mobility management procedure, or any combination thereof.

Cooperative user equipment switching

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station serving the UE in a first network, a power control configuration and a reference signal measurement configuration. The UE may receive, based at least in part on the reference signal measurement configuration, a reference signal from at least one wireless device of a second network. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the power control configuration and the received reference signal, an interference level for the second network introduced by the first network. The UE may adjust a transmission power limit for the UE based at least in part on the determined interference level and the power control configuration. The UE may transmit signals to the base station according to the adjusted transmission power limit.
