A waste-gas cleaning system for cleaning aerosol-laden gases or atmospheres includes an inlet configured to intake raw gas, an outlet configured to discharge clean gas and at least one assembly including an ionization section and a downstream central collection section disposed centrally with respect to a channel axis. The ionization section includes at least one level at a right angle to the channel axis. The at least one assembly includes at least two substantially identical ionization stages disposed in a plane and arranged uniformly about the channel axis and configured to conduct a gas flow radially, with respect to the channel axis, inward therethrough into the downstream central collection section so as to be similarly diverted such that a flow profile over an inside cross section in the downstream central collection section is not inclined with respect to the channel axis in the course of the gas flow.

Physical structure of exhaust-gas cleaning installations

An electrostatic precipitator for removing solid and liquid components from an aerosol includes a precipitator housing having a raw gas inlet for an aerosol to be cleaned, a clean gas outlet for cleaned aerosol, and at least one aerosol supply channel flange-mounted to the raw gas inlet, a drain device for solid and liquid components that are separated from the aerosol, an ionization stage externally powered via a high-voltage bushing and including at least one metallic high-voltage rod that extends into a flow path of the aerosol and to which high voltage is applyable, and a collector stage disposed in the flow path downstream of the ionization stage.

Electrostatic precipitator

In a leadthrough for an electrical high voltage conductor through a wall which separates a process area from an ambient area, comprising a body of a dielectric high voltage resistant material, two axially adjacent geometric base structures are provided, a cylinder and a truncated cone having a smaller diameter end adjacent the cylinder so that the cylinder has a radial annular surface area adjacent the truncated cone, and the cylinder includes axially extending gas supply bores arranged uniformly distributed over the circumference of the cylinder and having exit openings at the radial annular face of the cylinder such that gas supplied to the gas supply bores at the ambient area end of the cylinder is discharged from the gas supply bores onto the outer surface of the truncated cone to form a gas envelope around the truncated cone.

Leadthrough for an electrical high voltage through a wall surrounding a process area

A tubular collector for precipitating electrically loaded aerosols from a gas stream stands vertically in a gas stream duct. The stream flows upwards in the section. The tubular collector includes at least one group of pipe bundle which extends at the most over the internal width of the duct and including at least one dimensionally stable pipe bundle whose lower side or side that faces the flow rests on a grating or perforated metal sheet connected to an electric reference potential. At least the top side or side away from the stream of a group of pipe bundles is uniformly sprayed with rinsing liquid. The pipes of a group of pipe bundles are held apart by spacers so that the stream flows over their outer and inner sides. The pipes of a group of pipe bundles are identical and have different adjustment heights. The pipes have such a length that at least when a turbulent flow enters one pipe, a laminar gas stream is formed downstream.

Tubular collector for precipitating electrically loaded aerosols from a gas stream

An electrostatic ionization system in a precipitation device for purifying a gas stream passing through it includes: an electrically conductive plate including a plurality of nozzles configured for passage of the gas stream; a sleeve positive-fittingly disposed on each nozzle; a high-voltage grid; a plurality of rod-shaped high-voltage electrodes each having an end connected to the grid and an exposed free end arranged identically centrally in a corresponding one of the nozzles, the electrodes each forming a circumferential gap and arranged at an electrical potential of the grid, wherein the free end of each of the electrodes is exposed downstream after the corresponding nozzle, wherein a wall of each sleeve is permeable to the gas stream and includes at least one of a grid, a perforated sheet and individual rods equidistantly spaced from each other and having free ends terminating in a holding ring.

Electrostatic ionization system

A wet electrostatic ionization stage in an electrostatic separation device for purifying a flowing aerosal including finely dispersed particles entrained in a gas. The wet electrostatic ionization stage includes a plate disposed across a cross section of a flow channel and connected to a ground potential or reference counterpotential. The plate includes substantially identical openings through which the gas flows. The wet electrostatic ionization stage also includes a high-voltage grid disposed across the cross section of the flow channel either upstream or downstream from the plate and electrically isolated from a wall of the flow channel. The high voltage grid is coupled to a high voltage potential via a bushing disposed in the wall of the flow channel. For each opening in the plate, a rod-shaped high-voltage electrode coupled at one end to the high-voltage grid has a free end projecting centrically into the one opening. Each electrode includes a disk of electrically conductive material disposed on its free end. The disks are disposed in a substantially identical manner, each parallel to the plate, centrically with its corresponding opening and free from contact with the plate. The disks each include at least two outwardly extending radial tips. A sleeve is disposed in each opening. Each of the sleeves has a substantially identical cross section and an axis disposed substantially perpendicular to the plate. The sleeves are spaced circumferentially at a constant distance L from the radial tips.

Wet electrostatic Ionising step in an electrostatic deposition device

In an ionizer of an exhaust gas ionization system for ionizing moisture-laden gases in a channel comprising a nozzle plate having circular nozzle openings through which the gases are conducted, a high voltage electrode support grid arranged downstream of the nozzle plate and having electrode pins extending toward the nozzle openings and carrying at their free ends star structures with a number of tips projecting radially toward the circumference of the nozzle openings and being electrically charged for ionizing the moisture laden gases flowing through the nozzle openings past the star structures, the nozzle openings are sufficiently large to cause the gas flow to be slow enough to permit water to flow down along the walls of the nozzle openings against the upward flow of the gases through the nozzle openings.
