The present invention relates to a process for producing dental milling blanks, wherein inorganic filler powders are in a first step surface-coated with a silane and wherein in a second step a polymerizable composition is adsorbed on the silanized surface. Subsequent compression and polymerization affords a homogeneous milling blank having very good mechanical properties.

Process for the production of dental milling blanks

In order to develop mixing and application capsules known from the prior art, so that limitations regarding the dental preparations that can be obtained are overcome, a mixing capsule () for producing a dental preparation is proposed in which the mixing capsule () has: a capsule body () having a mixing chamber for receiving a mixing component and for mixing the dental preparation from the mixing component, a first fluid and a second fluid and having an outlet opening () for expelling the dental preparation, a first cavity for receiving the first fluid, a first piston body () which delimits the mixing chamber in the capsule body () and which has a first passageway for guiding the first fluid from the first cavity into the mixing chamber, a second cavity for receiving the second fluid and a second piston body () which delimits the mixing chamber in the capsule body () and which has a second passageway for guiding the second fluid from the second cavity into the mixing chamber.

Mixing capsule for producing a dental preparation

There are described tooth filling materials and dental varnishes for inhibiting the biofilm formation ofcontaining (a) a quantity of an active substance for inhibiting the biofilm formation, (b) a material for forming a structure for the uptake and delayed release of the active substance and (c) a filling material system. A method for infiltration and/or sealing of hard tooth tissue and for detection of caries in the infiltrated region or under the seal by means of fluorescence, is described. The method includes applying a composition comprising a filler system consisting of or comprising inorganic filler particles surface-modified by means of organic structural elements, wherein the organic structural elements can be reacted with an organic binder system to form covalent bonds, wherein the filler particles of the composition have an average particle size in the range between 1 nm and 150 nm, and an organic binder system comprising one or more polymerizable monomers, wherein the filler system is dispersed in the organic binder system (b). The infiltrated or sealed surface of the hard tooth tissue is then irradiated with excitation radiation which causes emission of fluorescence radiation. The fluorescence radiation data is recorded and used to detect curies.
