The invention relates to a valve-actuating device for actuating a valve of a reciprocating piston engine, comprising a first and second rocker arm rotatably mounted about a common rotational axis; a pushrod connected to the first rocker arm so as to transmit an actuating movement of the first rocker arm to a valve; a first and second cam arranged on a shaft, where the first rocker arm marks a contour of the first cam and the second rocker arm marks a contour of the second cam, where the rocker arms are connected together via a mechanical coupling apparatus having a locking element able to be brought into at least a first position and a second position and configured to transmit an actuating movement of the second rocker arm to the first rocker arm at least in the first position of the locking element; and a switching device having a slotted guide element which is designed to bring the locking element of the coupling apparatus at least from the first position to the second position and vice-versa.

Valve-actuating device

A valve-actuating device for a valve of a reciprocating piston engine having a coupling apparatus with a locking element able to be brought into a first and second position by a mechanical switching device, the switching device comprising a guide rod and a parallel actuating rod capable of relative movement; a slotted guide element movably mounted on the guide rod for moving the locking element; a triggering element coupled to the slotted guide element; where the slotted guide element and triggering element are clamped between two stops on the actuating rod, each with an associated spring element, where the slotted guide element and the triggering element are displaceable along and/or parallel to the guide rod with the actuating rod; and a blocking element interacting with the triggering element which in a first state, blocks a displacement of the triggering element and the slotted guide element upon the axial displacing of the actuating rod such that the spring elements are preloaded, where in a second state, a displacement of the triggering element and the slotted guide element effects actuation of the coupling apparatus.

Valve-actuating device having a switching device

The invention relates to a cylinder head () with at least one recess () for arranging at least one gas valve () and at least one spark plug (). The spark plug () reaches into a pre-chamber () and is arranged along a spark plug rotational axis (), and the gas valve () is arranged along a gas valve rotational axis (), wherein the gas valve rotational axis () is inclined relative to the spark plug rotational axis (), and the distance (A) between the gas valve rotational axis () and the spark plug rotational axis () decreases as the distance to the pre-chamber () increases in a direction facing away from the combustion chamber (). The aim of the invention is to provide an improved cylinder head () which allows an improved assembly and requires less installation space. According to the invention, this is achieved by the aforementioned cylinder head () in that the recess () for the spark plug () and the gas valve () has a surface () which is formed by a primary molding process, preferably a casting process, and is post-processed particularly preferably without machining.

Cylinder head

Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to liquid-cooled cylinder heads. In one example embodiment, a cylinder head is disclosed including a component which extends into a combustion chamber, an upper cooling jacked, a lower cooling jacket, a plurality of valves arranged around the component, a plurality of cylinder head screws, an oil deck, a fire deck, a plurality of valve guides, and a fixed connection. The fixed connection is arranged from each valve guide to the component, and is a ring having at least one support. The support and the ring extend at least from the oil deck to the fire deck thereby bounding the combustion chamber, and the component is connected to the plurality of cylinder head screws.

Liquid-cooled cylinder head

Various aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a cylinder head for an internal combustion engine. In one example embodiment, the cylinder head includes at least one spark plug having at least one earth electrode, a precombustion chamber accommodating the at least one spark plug, and a fuel channel which leads into the precombustion chamber. The fuel channel having a flow axis at an outlet that is oriented in the direction of the at least one earth electrode. An axis of rotation of the at least one spark plug has an offset with respect to the flow axis between 0 and 15% of the greatest precombustion chamber diameter.

Cylinder head of an internal combustion engine

Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to liquid-cooled cylinder heads. In one example embodiment, a cylinder head is disclosed including a component which extends into a combustion chamber, an upper cooling jacked, a lower cooling jacket, a plurality of valves arranged around the component, a plurality of cylinder head screws, an oil deck, a fire deck, a plurality of valve guides, and a fixed connection. The fixed connection is arranged from each valve guide to the component, and is a ring having at least one support. The support and the ring extend at least from the oil deck to the fire deck thereby hounding the combustion chamber, and the component is connected to the plurality of cylinder head screws.

Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to an internal combustion engine cylinder head. In one example embodiment, the cylinder head includes a combustion chamber, a fire deck, an intermediate deck remote from a combustion chamber, a central receptacle that receives an injection or ignition device, at least one valve bridge, at least two adjacent gas exchange valves, a top-down cooling system, at least one first transfer opening, and at least one second transfer opening. The top-down cooling system including a first sub-cooling chamber and a second sub-cooling chamber. The at least one first transfer opening positioned between the first sub-cooling chamber and the second sub-cooling chamber. The at least one second transfer opening positioned between the first sub-cooling chamber and the second sub-cooling chamber is arranged in the region in the region of the at least one valve bridge between the at least two adjacent gas exchange valves.

Internal combustion engine having at least one cylinder

The invention relates to a reciprocating-piston machine, comprising a valve actuation device for at least one gas exchange valve, at least one valve stroke transmission device, which has at least one valve stroke transmission element, which is arranged between the gas exchange valve and the camshaft and which is mounted for movement between a first Position associated with a closed Position of the gas exchange valve and a second Position associated with an open position of the gas exchange valve, at least one halting device having a halting element mounted for movement between an actuation position and a release position in a machine housing or a housing-fixed component parallel to a guiding surface of the first valve stroke transmission element that the halting element at least shows the displacement motion of the first valve stroke transmission element and releases said displacement motion in the release position.

Reciprocating-piston machine

Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to, for example, a cylinder head for an internal combustion engine. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the cylinder head includes at least one upper partial cooling chamber, a lower partial cooling chamber, an intermediate deck and at least one flow connection. The upper and lower cooling chamber are separated from one another by the intermediate deck. The intermediate deck having an element of single-wall design which extends into a combustion chamber and penetrates the intermediate deck. The at least one flow connection is positioned in the region of the element between the at least one upper and lower partial cooling chambers. The at least one flow connection formed by at least one recess on the element which tapers towards the one lower partial cooling chamber.

The present invention relates to a coupling device for a valve-actuating device for actuating at least one valve of a reciprocating machine having variable valve lift, in particular for a valve-actuating device of a reciprocating internal combustion engine, to a valve-actuating device and to a reciprocating machine, the coupling device comprising a first coupling element, a second coupling element and a blocking means. The first coupling element and the second coupling element can be displaced relative to one another at least within defined boundaries along a first axis, it being possible for the blocking means to block the relative displacement of the two coupling elements with respect to one another along the first axis at least in a first direction. The blocking means comprises a blocking element, which can be rotated about the first axis in the circumferential direction at least in a defined region, the relative displacement of the two coupling elements along the first axis being blocked at least in the first direction if the blocking element is in a blocking position.

Coupling device for a valve-actuating device

The invention relates to a reciprocating-piston engine, in particular an internal combustion engine having a variable compression ratio with a length adjusting device which is arranged in a connecting rod and which can be activated by a switching unit arranged in the connecting rod, wherein an actuating mechanism is operatively connected to the switching unit in the region of a connecting rod bearing in order to introduce a switching pulse into the connecting rod. The actuating mechanism has a deflection element with at least one first force-application region and at least one second force-application region, and the first force-application region and the second force-application region can be selectively contacted with at least one actuating device.

Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to an internal combustion engine having a valve actuation device and at least one first exhaust valve and one second exhaust valve per cylinder. The first and second exhaust valves may be actuated together in at least one operating area of the internal combustion engine, via an exhaust valve bridge and a first valve lifter, by a first cam lobe of a first exhaust cam arranged on a camshaft. The camshaft having a second exhaust cam with at least one additional cam lobe and at least one second cam lobe A transmission device being arranged in the functional path between the second exhaust cam and the second exhaust valve, the transmission device allowing an idle stroke to be activated or deactivated. The first exhaust cam and the second exhaust cam are configured and arranged to be rotatable relative to one another.

Internal combustion engine having a valve actuation device

The invention relates to a cylinder head () for an internal combustion engine having at least one cylinder, having at least one valve seat ring () for a lifting valve, wherein the valve seat ring () is surrounded by an annular cooling channel () for a coolant which is formed at least partially into the cylinder head (), wherein the cooling channel () surrounds the valve seat ring at least partially and extends between at least one inlet () and at least one outlet (). In order to reduce the valve wear, it is provided that, as viewed in a section perpendicularly with respect to the axis () of the valve seat ring (), the cooling channel () has at least one preferably substantially crescent-shaped bulge () in the region of the inlet () and/or the outlet ().

Cylinder head for an internal combustion engine

A valve actuating device for variable valve control wherein at least one articulation point between a valve lever and a gas exchange valve, or a force transmission element which acts on the gas exchange valve, is adjustable by way of an adjusting device which includes a piston displaceably mounted in the valve lever, a piston rod which is connected to the piston is connected in an articulated manner at a first articulation point to a first end of a push rod whose second end is connected in an articulated manner at a second articulation point to the gas exchange valve, or the force transmission part which acts on the gas exchange valve, the first articulation point being displaced in the longitudinal direction of the piston rod at least between a first position and a second position.

The invention relates to a length-adjustable con rod () for a reciprocating piston engine, particularly an internal combustion engine, having at least a first and a second rod part (), wherein the two rod parts () can be pushed together and/or inside one another in a telescoping manner, wherein the second rod part () forms a guide cylinder () and the first rod part () a piston element () which can be pushed longitudinally in the guide cylinder (), wherein a high-pressure chamber (), into which at least one oil channel () opens, is clamped between the first and the second rod parts (). To enable the compression ratio to be adjusted in the simplest and most reliable manner possible, according to the invention the two rod parts () can be fixed, by a locking device (), relative to one another in at least one position, preferably corresponding to a minimum length of the con rod ().
