A damping element, particularly for a vehicle, includes first and second cylinder chambers, a cylinder and a connection element formed as a hollow body fastened to the end of the cylinder. A movable separating piston is arranged between the second cylinder chamber and the interior of the connection element for separating the region of the second cylinder chamber that is filled with hydraulic medium from a region of the connection element that is filled with a compressible medium. The connection element has a tube cross section having an outer diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the cylinder and is inserted into the cylinder and tightly and fixedly. The separating piston is arranged so as to be coaxially displaceable in the cylinder and its displaceability is limited relative to the end region of the cylinder by the front side of the end region of the connection element.

Damping element

A spring plate, especially for a MacPherson strut unit, having an axial support surface for the final turn of a helical spring. The helical spring is centered by radial centering surfaces in the area of the circumferential contour of the final turn. The centering surface is divided into individual, partial centering surfaces, which come to rest against the circumferential contour of the helical spring.

Piston-cylinder unit includes a piston rod guided with freedom of axial movement in a cylinder, where at least part of the piston rod is enclosed by a piston rod protector, which is designed with at least limited axial elasticity. At least one retaining surface of the piston rod protector enters into a positive connection with at least one stop surface on the cylinder side, and an auxiliary assembly bevel allows the piston rod protector to buckle over a certain stroke range of the piston rod during the installation of the protector, so that the retaining surface snap-locks onto the stop surface on the cylinder side.

Mounting assembly for a vibration damper, comprising at least one aligning surface on the vibration damper side, which is in working connection with an opposing surface on the vehicle side at least during the installation of the vibration damper in a receiving opening in the vehicle. The at least one aligning surface and the opposing surface rotationally align the mounting side with the vehicle side. The aligning surface is arranged on a mounting cap with torque-transmitting element, and with at least one axial support surface for cooperation with the opposing surface on the vehicle side. The mounting cap prevents the vibration damper from falling out of the mounting assembly through the use of a carrier on the mounting side, to which the vibration damper is attached, this carrier having a retaining element in the form of a tongue which engages an opening in the mounting cap.

Mount for a shock absorber includes a cap in working torque-transmitting connection with the entire mount. The twisting surface, which is in working connection with an opposing surface on the vehicle at least during the installation of the shock absorber in a mounting hole in the vehicle. The twisting surface and the opposing surface ensure the rotational alignment of the connecting means on the mount side with the connecting means on the vehicle side.
