Three-dimensional coordinate scanners and methods of scanning environments are described. The scanners include a housing having a top, a bottom, a first side, a second side, a first end face, and a second end face. A 3D point cloud system is arranged within the housing including a rotating mirror and configured to acquire 3D point cloud data of a scanned environment. A first color camera is arranged within the housing on the first side and configured to capture respective color data of the scanned environment and a second color camera arranged within the housing on the second side and configured to capture respective color data of the scanned environment.

Three-dimensional scanning and image reconstruction thereof

A 3D measuring device is provided. The device includes a measuring head with a light transmitter and a light receiver. A control and evaluation device is coupled to the light transmitter and light receiver and determines the distance to the object. An accessory interface allows an accessory device to be mechanically connected to the measuring head and can be electrically connected to the control and evaluation device. The accessory interface includes a receiving section and a contact section. The receiving and contact sections are arranged such that the accessory device can be inserted into the accessory interface in an insertion direction in order to electrically and mechanically couple the accessory device to the accessory interface. A support structure having an integral slot is coupled to the measuring head. The slot has the receiving section for the mechanical connection and the at least one contact section.

A 3D measurement device is provided that includes a base and a measuring head that can be rotated relative to the base about a first axis. A light emitter is provided which emits an emission light beam and a light receiver which receives a reception light beam. A control device determines the distance to an object. The mirror assembly is provided includes a motor housing and a shaft coaxial with the second axis. A motor is provided having a rotor and a stator, the rotor being coupled to the shaft, the stator coupled to the motor housing. A support structure has a body and a sidewall, the sidewall defining a hollow interior region that receives the rotor and the stator, the support structure further having a slanted section. A reflecting mirror is coupled to the slanted section for deflecting the emission light beam and the reception light beam.

3D measurement device with rotor in a nested configuration

A 3D measurement device for optically scanning and measuring an environment is provided. The device includes a measuring head having a light emitter which emits an emission light beam, a light receiver and a control and evaluation device. The light receiver receives a reception light beam that is reflected or otherwise scattered by an object in the environment of the 3D measurement device. The control and evaluation device determines at least the distance from the object for each of a plurality of measuring points. A battery pack is removably coupled to the measuring head. The battery pack includes a battery housing and a plurality of individual batteries that are circular in cross-section. The plurality of individual batteries are arranged in a plurality of rows that define a row direction. The plurality of rows include a first row offset from a second row by one-half a diameter of the individual batteries.

A laser scanner optically scans and measures an environment, the laser scanner having a base resting in the stationary reference system of the laser scanner, a measuring head rotatable about a vertical axis relative to the base, a measuring head rotatable relative to the base about a vertical axis, a motor supported in the measuring head, the motor having a motor shaft and a gear which, when driven by the motor by the motor shaft, turns the measuring head relative to the base, the gear being configured as a planetary gear.
