A method can include providing data from at least two data sets in a continuous color model that includes at least two color axes; transforming the data from the continuous color model to a hue, saturation and value color model to generate at least saturation data; applying an edge detection algorithm to the saturation data to generate enhanced data; and rendering at least a portion of the enhanced data to a display. Seismic attribute color model transform

Described herein are implementations of various technologies for a method for mapping water table depths. In one implementation, a satellite image of an area of interest may be received. The satellite image may comprise a red spectrum, a green spectrum and a blue spectrum. A first map may be generated that identifies only water features on the satellite image. The first map may be convolved with a digital elevation model of the area of interest to generate a second map. The second map may identify elevations of the water features on the satellite image. An interpolation algorithm may be applied to the second map to generate a third map. The third map may identify water tables and elevations for the water tables on the satellite image.

A method for generating a three dimensional (3D) model of a near surface layer. In one implementation, the method may include generating a one dimensional (1D) geologic model of the near surface layer, converting the 1D geologic model to a two dimensional (2D) geologic model of the near surface layer, converting the 2D geologic model to a 3D geologic model of the near surface layer, and converting the 3D geologic model to a 3D elastic geologic model of the near surface layer.

A method of processing seismic data comprises processing data representative of the acceleration wavefield so as to obtain information about the earth's subsurface direct from the seismic data representative of the acceleration wavefield. In conventional techniques for processing seismic data representative of the acceleration wavefield the data are transformed to the velocity domain at an early stage in the processing. The invention enables the transform step to be eliminated, thereby simplifying the processing and eliminating the risk that the transform might degrade the data. Interpretation of a shot gather and a stack of seismic data. In one implementation, the shot gather is sorted into a first component shot gather, a second component shot gather and a third component shot gather. The first component shot gather is represented as a first subimage, the second component shot gather is represented as a second subimage, and the third component is represented as a third subimage. The first subimage is then merged with the second subimage and the third subimage to create a false color image. The shot gather of seismic traces may then be interpreted based on the false color image. The first component may by an x component, the second component may be a y component and the third component may be a z component. The first subimage may be a red or cyan subimage, the second subimage may be a green or yellow subimage and the third subimage may be a blue or magenta subimage.

Interpretation of shot gather and stack of seismic data

A method for land seismic data acquisition is provided, together with a seismic cable and a cable spool vehicle for use in the method. In performing the method, the cable spool vehicle mechanically deploys seismic cable with attached sensors according to a desired geophysical spread and at a rate dependent upon the speed of movement of the vehicle substantially without tension in the cable. The cable spool vehicle also allows mechanical pick-up of the seismic cable together with the sensors after the seismic data acquisition.
