Laser machining system () comprises a high-power laser () for generating a high-power pump laser beam (HP-MM), control signal laser () for generating a control signal laser beam (SS), an optical fiber () leading from the two lasers to a laser machining head (). The optical fiber has an SRS amplifier fiber () with an inner fiber core () of higher brilliance and with an outer fiber core () of lower brilliance surrounding the inner fiber core. The control signal laser beam (SS) is coupled into the inner fiber core and the pump laser beam (HP-MM) is coupled into the outer fiber core. The radiation component converted from the outer fiber core into the inner fiber core due to the SRS amplification is adjusted by means of the coupled-in power of the control signal laser beam (SS) to adjust the brilliance of the machining laser beam leaving the SRS amplifier fiber.

An optical beam switch includes at least one input optical wave guide, multiple output optical wave guides and an optical switching element for selectively switching a light beam guided in the at least one input optical wave guide to one of the output optical wave guides, in which the switching element is between the at least one input optical waveguide and the multiple output optical waveguides. The optical switching element includes a beam propagation element and an optical focusing system, where the beam propagation element has two mutually opposed end faces and where either the beam propagation element or the optical focusing system can be deflected and/or twisted transversely to an optical axis. The at least one input optical wave guide is attached to a first end face of the beam propagation element, and the output optical wave guides are attached to a second end face.

Optical beam switch

To improve a laser system comprising at least one externally stabilizable semiconductor laser, from the laser active zone of which a laser radiation field can be coupled out, and a feedback element, disposed externally in the laser radiation field, which couples out, from the laser radiation field, a feedback radiation field having a defined wavelength and bandwidth, and couples back same into the active laser zone for determining the wavelength and bandwidth of the laser radiation field, in such a way that the wavelength stabilization may be achieved more cost-effectively, it is proposed that the feedback element is a resonant waveguide grating which reflects back a portion of the laser radiation field lying within an angular acceptance range.

Laser system

An F/theta lens system for focusing high-power laser radiation in a flat image field including at least two lenses. The at least two lenses are arranged sequentially in a beam path, where the at least two lenses are made from a material that is stable when exposed to laser radiation having a power of more than 1 kW, and at least one of the lenses has at least one aspherical lens surface.

A diode laser apparatus includes a plurality of laser bars, each laser bar having an emission direction and a beam path. The laser bars are disposed along an arc, the emission directions of the laser bars are directed toward an inside of the arc, and a slow-axis direction of each laser bar is oriented along the arc.

Diode laser arrangement and associated beam shaping unit

In a solid-state laser amplifier including at least two laser-active media in a common laser radiation field, the laser-active media do not form a hard aperture for the laser radiation field. Each of the laser-active media define a plane that is penetrated by the laser radiation field. The laser amplifier includes at least one focusing optical element disposed in the laser radiation field between two adjacent laser-active media. A focal length and a distance of the focusing optical element from the planes of the two adjacent laser-active media are selected such that the planes of the laser-active media are approximately mapped onto each other by a near-field far-field transformation.

Laser amplifier

A device for focusing a laser beam includes a first telescopic configuration and a second telescopic configuration. The first telescopic configuration includes a collimating optical element for collimating the laser beam and a downstream focusing optical element for focusing the laser beam onto a focal point. The second telescopic configuration includes a first lens and a downstream second lens disposed in the divergent beam path upstream of the first telescopic configuration. The first and second lenses of the second telescopic configuration are moveable relative to each other in the beam direction.

Focusing a laser beam

A high-power fiber laser amplifier with a laser wavelength of about 1060 to 1100 nm and an average laser power of more than about 500 W and an almost diffraction-limited beam quality (M&#x3c;1.5) comprises a double-clad laser fiber that has a separate, laser-active fiber core with an outer diameter of at least 20 &#x3bc;m and a pump core that surrounds the fiber core and has an outer diameter of at least 50 &#x3bc;m, and ytterbium-doped solid state laser that emits pump light with a wavelength of approximately 1030 nm, a beam quality of M&#x3c; of approximately 30 and a laser power of at least approximately 600 watts, for pumping the double-clad laser fiber.

High-power fiber laser amplifier and fiber laser oscillator

A beam shaping optical arrangement combines three incoming laser beams that are mutually laterally offset in two orthogonal directions (X and Y), including an incoming first central laser beam and second and third incoming beams laterally offset in the X direction on either side of the central beam, into one outgoing combined laser beam. The arrangement includes two lateral displacement optical units though which the laterally offset incoming beams are transmitted and that laterally displace the two laterally offset incoming beams along the X direction towards the incoming central beam but which do not laterally offset the incoming central beam. The lateral displacement units include a material having a higher refractive index than a medium located in an optical path of the central laser beam, and the optical path length traversed by the incoming laterally offset laser beams is selected such that, after transmission though the optical units, the diameters of the central laser beam and the laterally offset laser beams are approximately equal at least in the X direction, and a divergence of the central laser beam is approximately equal to a divergence of the laterally offset laser beams.

In order to improve a laser amplifying system comprising a plate-like solid-state body which has two oppositely located flat sides and comprises a laser-active medium, a cooling member with a support surface which is arranged so as to face one of the flat sides of the solid-state body and with which this flat side is thermally coupled for the discharge of heat, in such a manner that an optimum coupling takes place it is suggested that the flat side of the solid-state body be coupled mechanically and thermally to the support surface by an adhesive layer which is produced from an adhesive which passes from a liquid state into a solid, cross-linked state essentially invariant in volume and that the adhesive layer have an active adhesive layer area with a heat resistance of less than 10 K&#xd7;mm/W.

Laser amplifying system

In order to improve a laser amplifying system comprising a plate-like solid-state body which has two oppositely located flat sides and comprises a laser-active medium, a cooling member with a support surface which is arranged so as to face one of the flat sides of the solid-state body and with which this flat side is thermally coupled for the discharge of heat, in such a manner that an optimum coupling takes place it is suggested that the flat side of the solid-state body be coupled mechanically and thermally to the support surface by an adhesive layer which is produced from an adhesive which passes from a liquid state into a solid, cross-linked state essentially invariant in volume and that the adhesive layer have an active adhesive layer area with a heat resistance of less than 10 K&times;mm /W.

In order to improve a laser amplifying system, comprising a solid-state member which has flat sides located opposite one another, is of a plate-like design and comprises a laser-active medium, a laser radiation field passing through the solid-state member, a pumping radiation field pumping the laser-active material, a cooling device which absorbs heat from the solid-state member via a first flat side by means of a fluid cooling medium flowing in it, and a reflector for the laser radiation field arranged on the first flat side, of the generic type in such a manner that the solid-state member may be arranged and aligned in as optimum a manner as possible it is suggested that a support with a stable shape be provided for the solid-state member, this support having the laser radiation field passing through it and being transparent for it, that the solid-state member be supported areally on a support surface of the support with a stable shape with its second flat side and be arranged so as to be defined in its shape and position essentially only via the support surface interacting with the second flat side.

In order to improve a laser amplification system, comprising a solid-state body having a laser-active medium, a pumping radiation source for generating a pumping radiation field which passes through the solid-state body several times, an optical pumping radiation imaging means which is arranged between the pumping radiation source and the solid-state body and focuses a leg of the pumping radiation field entering the solid-state body onto the solid-state body and at least one optical refocusing means which focuses a leg of the pumping radiation field exiting from the solid-state body onto the solid-state body again in the form of a leg entering the solid-state body and different to the outgoing leg, in such a manner that as high a pumping radiation power density as possible can be generated in the solid-state body with as little resources as possible it is suggested that the optical refocusing means reshape the leg exiting from the solid-state body into an intermediately collimated leg and reshape the intermediately collimated leg again into the leg entering the solid-state body again and focused onto it.

Laser amplification system

In order to provide a laser amplification system comprising several solid-state volumes having a laser-active medium, a pumping radiation source, a pumping radiation reflector which allows a leg of the pumping radiation field entering the solid-state volume to pass through the solid-state volume again as outgoing leg such that the incoming leg and the outgoing leg form a first pumping branch, a first pumping radiation path, in which the pumping radiation field passes through the first pumping branches in a first sequence, with which the individual solid-state volumes are acted upon with pumping power as uniformly as possible, it is suggested that each solid-state volume be penetrated by a second pumping branch, the incoming leg of which and the outgoing leg of which are located in a second plane different to the first plane, that a second pumping radiation path be provided, in which the pumping radiation field passes through the second pumping branches in a second sequence and that in the second sequence the order of the solid-state volumes be changed in relation to the first sequence.
