A method for activating an automated parking maneuver to be carried out via a parking assistance system with a motor vehicle is provided. The parking assistance system can be operated remotely from outside the motor vehicle by way of a mobile communications device. The method includes outputting an instruction via the mobile communications device for the user-side execution of a predefined activation movement of the mobile communications device; determining first sensor information relating to the activation movement of the communications device by way of a communications-device-side sensor system; detecting an activation movement of the mobile communications device carried out by the mobile communications device based on the first sensor information; and activating the parking maneuver according to the detection of the activation movement of the mobile communications device.

A method for operating a display unit in a vehicle includes detecting a parking space and collision obstacles. The collision obstacles are obstacles located in the vicinity of the vehicle and/or the parking space. A relative position of the vehicle to the parking space is determined. A control signal is generated to generate an image on the display unit according to the relative position of the vehicle to the parking space. The image comprises a virtual vehicle, a virtual parking space and schematic elements. The virtual vehicle is a schematic representation of the vehicle. The virtual parking space is a schematic representation of the parking space. The schematic elements are a schematic representation of the collision obstacles.

Method, device, computer program and computer program product for operating a display unit in a vehicle

The invention relates to determining a lane course with the aid of a plurality of recorded routes of vehicles using a compensation curve. Each of the plurality of recorded routes includes individual position indications in an order of passing during a respective journey. The method includes selecting a route from the plurality of recorded routes, determining a number of checkpoints for the compensation curve based on the selected route, and determining an initial compensation curve based on the number of checkpoints and the selected route from the plurality of routes. The method further includes performing, in a repeating fashion until an abort criterion has been satisfied, determining a new compensation curve using a previously-determined compensation curve and individual position indications of the plurality of routes, wherein determining the new compensation curve is performed independently of an order of position indications in one of the respective routes and being independent of the fact that a position indication used is assigned to a route from the plurality of routes, and outputting the new compensation curve as the lane course.
