A vehicle transmission having continuously variable transmission ratios including an input shaft and an intermediate shaft. A first conical disk pair is disposed on a first shaft and a second conical disk pair is disposed on a second shaft. A belt connects the disk pairs. An intermediate gear that can be rotatably engaged with the first shaft, and an output gear, are rotatably supported on the intermediate shaft. A connecting gear is non-rotatably disposed on the intermediate shaft. A first force transmitting device is disposed between the input shaft and intermediate shaft, a second force transmitting device is disposed between the input shaft and the intermediate gear, a third force transmitting device is disposed between the intermediate gear and output gear, and a fourth force transmitting device is disposed between the intermediate shaft and the output gear. At least one of the force transmitting devices is a freewheel.

Vehicle transmission having continuously variable gear ratios

A plate-link chain for a motor vehicle drive system including conical pulleys. The chain includes a number of link plates hingedly connected with each other by rocker members. The rocker members extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the chain and within openings in the link plates. The rocker members and link plates bear against each other along curved contact surfaces to transmit power. Rocker member pairs roll against each other on facing curved rolling surfaces at a contact point that moves from an upper area above the center of mass of the rocker member cross section to a lower area below it. The ratio of the distance from the end of the upper area to the center of mass and the distance from the end of the lower area to the center of mass lies in a range of from about 1.1 to about 2.

Plate-link chain

A turbocharger for an internal combustion engine, in which a mechanical energy flow can be generated from an exhaust gas flow of the internal combustion engine for providing engine intake airfow under pressure. The turbocharger includes a mechanical energy converter connected between the exhaust gas flow and the intake airflow, by which converter the mechanical energy flow can be transferred and transmitted. The turbocharger also includes an electrical energy converter associated with the mechanical energy flow for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy, or vice versa, to enable improved intake airflow charging of an internal combustion engine. By means of the electrical energy converter, an electrical energy flow can be selectively branched off to a battery or fed into the mechanical energy flow.

Turbocharger for an internal combustion engine

A plate-link chain for a motor vehicle drive system. The chain includes a plurality of link plates articulatingly connected with each other by rocker members. The rocker members extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the plate-link chain. The chain includes curved contact surfaces formed on the rocker members and on the link plates, along which the rocker members and link plates are in contact with each other to transmit force. The respective contact surfaces have a width that extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the plate-link chain, and when considered in a side view running transversely to the width and in the longitudinal direction of the plate-link chain, they have an arc length. The contact surfaces have at least three regions along the arc length with different curvatures.

Plate-link chain, particularly for a motor vehicle drive system

A compressor drive system for driving a compressor of an internal combustion engine contains a variable speed drive unit and a planetary gear set, the planetary gear set being connected to the internal combustion engine and the compressor in such a way that a first output shaft of the planetary gear set is connected to the compressor, a first drive shaft of the planetary gear set is connected to the internal combustion engine, and a second drive shaft of the planetary gear set is connected to the internal combustion engine through the variable speed drive unit.

A vehicle transmission with continuously variable transmission ratios, which has a first conical disk pair arranged on a first shaft, and a second conical disk pair arranged on a second shaft, a belt arranged between the conical disk pairs, and an input shaft which has an output wheel mounted rotatably thereon. The input shaft can optionally be rotationally engaged with the first or second shaft and the output wheel can be rotationally engaged with the respectively other shaft. Also, a multi-disk clutch transmits a rotational force between the input shaft and the first or second shaft and the output wheel can be rotationally engaged with the other shaft by way of a dog clutch. The first multi-disk clutch and the first dog clutch can be actuated by a first hydraulically actuated device and the second multi-disk clutch and the second dog clutch can be actuated by a second hydraulically actuated device.

Vehicle transmission having continuously variable transmission ratio

A planetary transmission having a continuously variable transmission ratio. The transmission includes two sun wheels having sun wheel circumferential surfaces, and that are axially spaced and rotatable independently of each other around the same axis of rotation. A ring wheel is situated on the same axis as the sun wheels and has an internal circumferential surface. Planet wheels are provided having planet wheel circumferential surfaces that are in frictional contact with the internal circumferential surface of the ring wheel and the sun wheel circumferential surfaces. A web element is also provided, and the planet wheels are each rotatable about an associated planet wheel axle, which is guided in the web element so that it is movable in the radial direction relative to the transmission longitudinal axis.

Planetary transmission with continuously variable transmission ratio

A first embodiment of a vehicle transmission with continuously variable transmission ratio contains a CVT variator with two variator shafts, an input shaft that can optionally be brought into rotational engagement with one or the other of the variator shafts, and an output shaft that can optionally be brought into rotational engagement with one or the other of the variator shafts, such that two forward driving ranges with opposite torque transmission directions of the CVT variator are present, whose transmission ratio ranges are constantly contiguous with each other.

An adjusting device including a CVT planetary roller transmission having two axially-spaced sun wheels that are rotatable about a common axis of rotation and at different speeds of rotation. Planet wheels contact and ride against peripheral surfaces of each of the sun wheels, and an axially displaceable ring wheel lies radially outwardly of the sun wheels and engages a peripheral groove formed in the sun wheels. When the ring wheel is axially displaced relative to the sun wheels the axes of rotation of the planet wheels tilt relative to the sun wheel axis resulting in a difference in the rotational speed of the sun wheels changes. The device can be employed as an adjusting device for adjusting the rotational speed of connected units, and also as a drive line component having a variable transmission ratio and situated in a power train of a motor vehicle.

A power-branched, continuously variable vehicle transmission includes a CVT variable speed drive that is connected to an input shaft through a planetary gear train and to an output shaft through a multistage gearbox. In an alternative embodiment, one variable speed drive shaft of the variable speed drive is connected to an input shaft, and the variable speed drive shafts are connected to an output shaft through a planetary gear train module. The power-branched transmission is compactly constructed, but permits a high start-up torque and enables a wide transmission ratio spread.

Power-branched, continuously variable vehicle transmission

Structures of automatic vehicle transmissions are described which have a planetary gear train connected to an input shaft. The planetary gear train is connected through a CVT variable speed drive that includes two variable speed drive shafts and through at least one gear pairing to an output shaft. Rotationally fixed connections corresponding to different gear ranges are producible between shafts of the transmission through gear pairings and or shaft connections provided with clutches.

Power-branched automatic vehicle transmission with a CVT-variable speed drive

A transmission having a steplessly adjustable transmission ratio that includes an endless torque-transmitting element in the form of a plate-link chain. The chain is adapted to pass over and around two pairs of conical disks, and it includes a number of side-by-side plate links having openings for receiving pressure members that interconnect plate links and that have end faces that frictionally engage the conical disks. The plate links are arranged in transverse rows and in longitudinal rows. Each of the outermost lateral edges of the chain is defined by pairs of side-by-side plate links.

Transmission with belt elements, especially for the transmission of force between two pairs of conical disks of the transmission

Rolling surfaces of rocker pressure members of plate-link chains for conical disk transmissions are constructed as freeform surfaces in such a way that their radius of curvature changes in a direction transverse to the longitudinal extent of the rocker pressure members and/or the thickness in the longitudinal direction of the rocker pressure members changes. In that way, the acoustic properties and the wear behavior of the plate-link chains can be improved.
