A method for controlling a passenger conveyor, which passenger conveyor includes an endless band of conveying elements, the endless band including an inclined conveying section; a drive shaft arranged to drive the endless band of conveying elements when rotated; a motor for rotating the drive shaft; a first sensing arrangement for sensing a rotation speed of the motor; a brake activatable to act directly on the drive shaft or an element fixedly connected to it for stopping rotation of the drive shaft; and a control system. The method includes rotating the drive shaft with the motor; and sensing rotation speed of the motor with the first sensing arrangement. The passenger conveyor includes a second sensing arrangement for sensing rotation speed of the drive shaft, and the method includes sensing rotation speed of the drive shaft with the second sensing arrangement; detecting deviation between the rotation speed of the motor and the rotation speed of the drive shaft or a multifold thereof; and activating the brake for stopping rotation of the drive shaft if deviation, in particular deviation meeting predefined criteria, is detected between the rotation speed of the motor and the rotation speed of the drive shaft or a multifold thereof, wherein said multifold equals to the rotation speed of the drive shaft multiplied with a preset factor n, wherein n preferably equals to transmission ratio between the drive shaft and the motor. A passenger conveyor implementing the method is also disclosed.

Method and passenger conveyor

A method and device for monitoring the functioning of a drive element provided between a drive motor and a pulling member for pallets or steps of a passenger transport installation is provided. The condition of the steps or pallets of the step or pallet belt may be monitored. The drive element may be monitored. The step or pallet belt may be stopped in the event of a malfunction of the drive element.

Method and device for monitoring the functioning of an escalator or of a moving walkway

A drive system for transport of a passenger transport installation including an escalator or a moving walkway. Steps or pallets of the transport are actively connected to pulling elements which can be moved in the transport direction by at least one electric motor provided with a gear train having a chain wheel. The electric motor containing the gear train is positioned in one of the reversing areas of the transport and a further electric motor exclusively serves for the linear motion of the transport. Bushes/rolls of plate link chains are adjacent to or roll along individual teeth of the chain wheel while only getting into line contact, outside the tooth ground of the chain wheel. A point of force application of the bushes/rolls on the respective tooth of the chain wheel is realized such that only a one-directional force application component is generated at the respective tooth.

Drive system for a passenger transport installation

A device for connecting a chain, which is actively connected to a roller, to a step or a pallet of an escalator or a moving walkway, respectively. The chain has a roller side and a step or pallet side. The device includes a hollow stud disposed on the roller side and a cylindrical shoulder disposed on the step or pallet side. The hollow stud has a clearance to receive the cylindrical shoulder. A slide bearing is arranged at least radially between a circumferential surface of the hollow stud defining the clearance and an outer circumferential surface of the shoulder.

Device for connecting a chain to a step or a pallet of a passenger conveying installation

A method for controlling an installation for a revolving passenger transport comprised of steps or pallets moving along a transport path that includes a plurality of drives. At least one drive is arranged in a reversing area and at least one further drive is arranged in an area of the transport path. Each drive is actively connected to a frequency converter. All of the frequency converters are monitored by a higher-order control. A defined drive pattern is memorized in the higher-order control. Measured values of the drives are transmitted to the higher-order control by individual frequency converters. The measured values are compared in the higher-order control with respect to each other. In case of divergences from the memorized drive pattern of the respective frequency converter, the respective frequency converter which diverges from a comparative value is corrected with aid of the higher-order control.

Method and device for operating a passenger transport installation

Device for the passenger transport, in particular an escalator provided with steps or a moving walkway equipped with pallets, wherein the steps or pallets are connected to each other to form a continuous step or pallet belt and can be moved in the direction of transport by means of drive elements, wherein a lower entrance or exit section of the device is connected to an upper exit or entrance section via at least one arched transport section which, seen over the length and height thereof, is formed by different radii which verge into each other, wherein at least the arched transport section is composed of several linear framing sections which are connected to each other in the region of the facing ends thereof.

A method and arrangement for controlling the respective brake of a device for transporting people, such as an escalator or a moving pavement in that the control signals for the drive motors and the brake are monitored with the aid of several processors. If functional interruptions occur in the region of the device for transporting people, the brake is applied abruptly. If deceleration values are detected, the brake is relieved in a defined manner and the device for transporting people is thus stopped via the processors within a predetermined time interval.

A method and a system for disconnecting passenger transport systems, especially escalators and moving walkways. Functional units of a passenger transport system monitor for malfunctions of the passenger transport systems by using switching elements and the signals of the functional units are combined to form a security chain. The signals of the functional units and signals from a drive monitoring unit are supplied to at least one pilot unit. Subsequently, a disconnecting signal is provided to a respective disconnecting contact as a result of a malfunction detected by the functional units and/or the drive monitoring system.

The invention relates to a device for monitoring functional units on escalators and moving walkways, comprising several processors which monitor predetermined parameters of a particular functional unit independently of each other. The processors are connected to devices for immediately shutting down the escalator or moving walkway and interact with at least one other processor which is provided for controlling and/or diagnosing functions which are not relevant to safety.
