A method for carrying out a casting process of a die-casting machine includes, for a mould-filling phase, to bring the shut-off valve into a closed position, and to control the casting piston in the casting chamber to advance from a casting start position to a filling end position, and, for a subsequent refilling phase, to bring the shut-off valve into an open position and to control the casting piston to move back to the casting start position. A closure nozzle is provided in the melt outlet channel and kept closed in the refilling phase. In the mould-filling phase, the casting piston is firstly moved back from the casting start position to an additional stroke position and subsequently advance from the additional stroke position via the casting start position to the filling end position. The closure nozzle is only opened when the casting piston advances again.

Die-casting machine having a shut-off valve in the melt inlet channel and operating method

A die-casting machine has a casting mould, a casting chamber, a casting piston arranged in an axially movable manner in the casting chamber, a melt inlet channel which leads into the casting chamber, a shut-off valve in the melt inlet channel, a melt outlet channel which leads from the casting chamber to the casting mould, and a control unit for controlling the casting piston. The control unit and the shut-off valve are configured, after completing a filling phase in a subsequent refilling phase firstly to bring the shut-off valve into an open position and to control the casting piston to move back into the casting start position, in order to supply the casting chamber with melt material via the melt inlet channel, and to control the shut-off valve into its closed position again before the casting piston has reached its casting start position by virtue of its return movement, and to control the casting piston to back-suction melt material in the melt outlet channel by virtue of the further return movement of the casting piston.

Die-casting machine and operating method

A casting unit for a die casting machine has a casting container with a casting chamber, a casting piston, which is arranged in an axially movable manner in the casting chamber, a melt bath connection opening, a melt inlet channel from the melt bath connection opening to the casting chamber, a melt outlet channel, which leads out of the casting chamber separately from the melt inlet channel, and a shut-off control valve for the melt inlet channel. The shut-off control valve has a valve main body arranged on the casting container, a valve seat and a valve closing body. The valve main body is held on the casting container at a lateral valve assembly region of the casting container in a manner accessible from the outside and includes the melt bath connection opening, and/or the casting piston is of a spool type, and the shut-off control valve is located with its valve closing body in the melt inlet channel at a flow-technical distance from the melt bath connection opening on the one hand and from the casting chamber on the other hand.

Casting unit for a die casting machine

A casting component and method for the application of an anticorrosive layer to a substrate, such as the casting component, are provided. The casting component for a device for casting a metal melt includes a metallic basic body and a melt contact surface region which is exposed to the metal melt during casting operation. In the casting component, the metallic basic body is provided in the melt contact surface region with an anticorrosive layer which is resistant to the metal melt and which is formed, using microparticles and/or nanoparticles of one or more substances from a substance group which includes borides, nitrides and carbides of the transition metals and their alloys and also of boron and silicon and AlO.

Casting component and method for the application of an anticorrosive layer

A diecasting machine casting unit includes a casting chamber body having a casting chamber with a casting material inlet and outlet. A casting piston is movable forward in a longitudinal direction in the casting chamber to discharge casting material from the casting chamber under pressure via the outlet, and is movable back, whereby casting material is feedable into the casting chamber via the inlet. The casting piston extends through a through-passage of the casting chamber body from outside into the casting chamber. An area of free space of the casting chamber is formed between an outer lateral surface of the casting piston and an inner wall surface of the casting chamber body transversely relative to the casting piston longitudinal direction by an outer cross section of the casting piston being appropriately smaller than an inner cross section of the casting chamber body.
