The invention relates to a coupling unit for coupling an optical transmitting and/or receiving module to an optical fiber. The coupling unit has a connecting area that can be connected to a transmitting and/or receiving module, and a holding area that holds an optical fiber. A transparent coupling area is provided, which is formed as an integral component of the coupling unit, and via which light can be coupled directly between an optical fiber that is inserted into the holding area and a transmitting and/or receiving module that is coupled directly to it. The coupling area preferably has a matched refractive index. The coupling unit is preferably in the form of an injection-molded part.

Coupling unit for coupling an optical transmitting and/or receiving module to an optical fiber

An optical device assembly includes an optical device. The optical device has an optical fiber led from the device with an anti-kink protector, and also a transmitting and/or receiving module having such an optical device. The anti-kink protector is made of a material and/or the anti-kink protector is sheathed with a material that is electrically conductive or highly absorbent to electromagnetic waves. The transmitting and/or receiving module is constructed in such a way that the anti-kink protector is disposed in the area of an opening of the module housing and at the same time is coupled electrically to the module housing. The electrical coupling of the electrically conductive anti-kink protector to the module housing results in a considerable reduction in the interference radiation that emerges.

Optical device assembly with an anti-kink protector and transmitting/receiving module

An optical transceiver module includes an electro-optical transmission assembly and an electro-optical receiving assembly both mounted on a common printed circuit board and enclosed by a top shell and a bottom shell of an electromagnetically shielding transceiver module. The housing has optical connection openings and an electrical connection opening. The serial optical signals of a first Bit-rate of several Gbit/s and more are converted to serial electrical signals and are multiplexed to parallel electrical signals at a lower second Bit-rate. Reducing the Bit-rate and thus reducing the electromagnetic frequency reduces the risk of electromagnetic interference on the printed circuit main-board. The optical connection openings have a first and a second gasket for reducing the electromagnetic radiation emerging out of the housing through the optical connection openings. The electrical connection opening has a third gasket for reducing the electromagnetic radiation emerging out of the electrical connection opening.

Optical transceiver module

On a front side, a module has a coupling socket for holding an optical fiber end, and at a rear side the module has a holding region in which an electrooptical component is fixed. A joint gap, filled with an adhesive, between the component and the holding region extends in a plane which is oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the coupling socket. The component and/or the holding region is provided with openings, which lead to the joint gap and taper toward the joint gap, and are introduced into the adhesive.

Electrooptical module

A module has on a front side a coupling socket for holding an optical fiber end, and at a rear side has a holding region for an electro optical component. The component is firstly prefixed in a position of maximum optical coupling by optical irradiation of an adhesive that can be cured both by light and by heat. After the prefixing, a permanent connection is made by thermal curing the adhesive in a temporally and/or spatially separate subsequent production step.

Method for producing an electrooptical module

An optical module includes a holding body for an optical component. The holding body is accommodated in a housing and provided with a flange. A plastic U-shaped latching device is held on the holding body and includes a base part having tongues with catches. In order to provide the module with a high reverse bending strength with reference to the tongues, the latching device is held on the flange with the aid of nose-like attachments of the housing in a transition region between the respective tongue and the base part.
