The invention relates to an optoelectronic safety device with a light transmitter (), a light receiver () for receiving received light beams () from reflections on at least one object () in the monitored region (), an evaluation unit () for evaluating the received signals and for outputting a safety signal as a function of the received signals, the evaluation unit () comprising a standard multicore processor which is formed on only one semiconductor substrate and has at least two CPUs (), the standard multi-core processor () not being a dedicated safety module and the evaluation being carried out redundantly on both CPUs (and) of the computing unit (), and the evaluation unit () having a watchdog controller () which monitors the function of the computing unit (), the watchdog controller () being able to cause the evaluation unit () to output the safety signal independently of the computing unit ().

Optoelectronic safety device

The invention relates to an optoelectronic safety sensor comprising an electronic measuring device for generating measured signals which depend on a state of a safety zone observed by the safety sensor and an electronic evaluation unit for evaluating the measured signals. The electronic evaluation unit comprises a programmable logic controller integrated into the optoelectronic safety sensor for the logic evaluation of logic state variables which are derived from the measured signals.
