A device may determine touch position information representing a position where a touch surface is touched by an object, and may determine force information representing a force being applied by the object to the touch surface. Based on the force information, the device may determine that the force applied to the touch surface does not satisfy a force threshold. Afterwards, the device may determine that a particular duration has not elapsed. Finally, after determining that the particular duration has not elapsed, the device may provide the touch position information for further processing.

The present invention relates to a touch screen device, a handheld device and a method for operating a touch screen device.

Touch screen device

A device, having a touch screen display, performs a mutual capacitance scan of rows and columns of an array of capacitive touch sensors associated with the touch screen display. The device selects a subset of the rows, and a subset of the columns, of the array of capacitive touch sensors, and performs a self capacitance scan of the selected subset of the rows, and the selected subset of the columns, of the array of capacitive touch sensors based on results of the mutual capacitance scan. The device identifies an accidental or false touch input on the touch screen display based on results of the self capacitance scan.

Dynamic touch sensor scanning for false border touch input detection

A network device receives, via a user interface, a selection to call a contact's mobile device. The mobile device detects a feature, on the contact's mobile device, that supports presenting a priority call notification and initiates, via a first communication protocol, a pending call to the contact's mobile device. The mobile device presents, prior to the pending call being connected and based on the detecting the feature set, a user interface to solicit a priority indicator option. The mobile device receives, via the user interface, a selection of the priority indicator option and sends, via a second communication protocol, a priority indication flag for the pending call.

Call handling using IP multimedia subsystem

The invention is directed to communicating data from a first device to a second device. An exemplary method comprises transmitting first device information from the first device to the second device, the first device information comprising a first location and first device identification information associated with the first device; receiving, from the second device, second device identification information associated with the second device, the second device information comprising a second location and second device information associated with the second device; enabling Wi-Fi Direct on the first device in response to determining, based on the first location and the second location, the first device is located less than or equal to a predetermined distance from the second device; initiating a Wi-Fi Direct scan on the first device; discovering the second device information during the scan; connecting to the second device via Wi-Fi Direct; and communicating data to the second device.

A portable electronic device comprises a proximity-sensing user interface and a controller. The proximity-sensing user interface is configured to capture position information and distance information. The controller is coupled to the proximity-sensing user interface and is configured to process first distance information () captured by the proximity-sensing user interface during a pre-determined touch action, to determine whether a material layer () is interposed between the user's skin and the proximity-sensing user interface. The controller is configured to selectively set an input mode from a first input mode to a second input mode when the first distance information indicates that no material layer () is interposed between the user's skin and the proximity-sensing user interface.
