A boring element of a ground boring device includes a housing having a receptacle, a transmitter arranged in the receptacle of the housing and supported in the receptacle for movement in a longitudinal-axial direction of the boring element, and a front buffer connecting the transmitter with the housing. The transmitter moves towards a rear in the receptacle as a result of a deformation of the front buffer, when a rear percussive impulse is applied to the boring element, without the transmitter coming directly into contact with another part of the boring element.

In a drilling method for creating a channel leading from surrounding soil into a shaft which is separated from the soil by a wall, a channel is drilled through the soil from a starting pit in the direction of the shaft using a first drill head. The first drill head continues to drill in this direction in order to create a breach in the wall, and a second drill head is then used in the shaft to widen the breach in the wall by drilling in the opposite direction with the second drill head.

In an apparatus for drilling in earth, a push-pull linkage, especially a ladder-type linkage consisting of individual sections connected together in each case by a plug-in coupling, is connected to a push-pull drive, and a stationary locking pawl and a thrust pawl which is moveable in the longitudinal direction of the linkage and is connected to the drive, with two mutually opposite directions of action, can each be brought into active connection with the linkage in order to move the linkage forward stepwise and lock it temporarily after each movement step.
