A tracker, a surgical navigation system with the tracker, and a method of operating the tracker are described. The tracker comprises a first switch configured to be operated between a first switch configuration and a second switch configuration. The tracker also comprises one or more sources of electromagnetic radiation configured to selectively emit electromagnetic radiation with a first radiation characteristic or a second radiation characteristic. The tracker further comprises electrical circuitry configured to selectively control the one or more sources of electromagnetic radiation to emit electromagnetic radiation having the first radiation characteristic in the first switch configuration and to emit electromagnetic radiation having the second radiation characteristic in the second switch configuration, wherein the second radiation characteristic is different from the first radiation characteristic.

Tracker for a head-mounted display

A method and a device for displaying an object, in particular biological tissue. The method has the following steps: a) generating a first image of at least one sub-region of the object using a first device; b) generating a second image of at least one sub-region of the object using a second device; c) ascertaining first coordinates of at least some image points of the second image in a first coordinate system; d) ascertaining second coordinates of the image points of the second image by projecting the first coordinates in a second coordinate system which is different from the first coordinate system and which is assigned to the first device; and e) generating a combined image of the object from the first and the second image using the ascertained second coordinates of the image points of the second image.

Method for displaying an object

An adapter for receiving a medical technical device and a position detecting system, wherein the adapter may comprise a first holding element, a second holding element, a spring exerting a restoring force on the second holding element, and a fixing element for fixing the position detecting system. The second holding element may be supported by the first holding element such that it can move and can be moved in a direction counter to the restoring force of the spring placing the adapter in a receiving state allowing the medical technical device to be inserted into the adapter. In the absence of the force acting counter to the restoring force of the spring, the spring may move the second holding element in the direction of the restoring force, placing the adapter in a clamping state and securing the adapter to the medical technical device.

Adapter for receiving a medical technical device and a position detecting system

The invention related to a method and a device for displaying an object, in particular biological tissue. Said method having the following steps: a) generating a first image of at least one sub-region of the object using a first device; b) generating a second image of at least one sub-region of the object using a second device; c) ascertaining first coordinates of at least some image points of the second image in a first coordinate system; d) ascertaining second coordinates of the image points of the second image by projecting the first coordinates in a second coordinate system which is different from the first coordinate system and which is assigned to the first device; and e) generating a combined image of the object from the first and the second image using the ascertained second coordinates of the image points of the second image.

Method and device for displaying an object

A method for calibrating a distance determining device for determining a distance between an optical system and an object. The method includes providing a detecting system having marking elements and a measuring camera. Using the distance determining device, a light structure is projected onto a carrier that provides a calibration pattern. The measuring camera detects the marking elements or the calibration pattern to determine the spatial position of the optical system. Coordinates of a calibration pattern in a coordinate system associated with the measuring camera are determined. An image of the calibration pattern and the light structure is created using a camera of the optical system. Coordinates of an image of a calibration pattern and the light structure in a coordinate system associated with the camera image plane are determined. The distance determining device is calibrated using the determined coordinates and the determined spatial position of the optical system.
