An office, work and leisure chair and retrofit kit for subliminal motions of the seated person. The chair has a cruciform base () with rollers (), a pneumatic spring-action post () with an interface plate () for a seat panel () and seat pad (), and a backrest (). The seat panel is mounted with wobble capability on a pneumatic cushion, which has deformable air chambers () connected by connecting hoses () and lies on an elastically deformable hollow body (). The hollow body pumps the air chambers when a person sits down and stands up. A pump hose () with a one-way valve leads from the hollow body to compensate for leakage losses. Connecting hoses between the air chambers have valves () such that the wobbling distance of the seat panel and the damping of the wobbling motion is variable.

Office, work and leisure chair and retrofit kit for causing subliminal movements of the person sitting thereon. The chair has a cruciform base (), freely articulated rollers (), a gas-spring support () and an interface panel () resting thereon as a support panel. Mounted on the support panel is a base panel () bearing a seat cover () with a seat surface and back rest (). The seat cover is provided and allowed to wobble, resting via a cover panel () on a plurality of spring elements (), which are displaceable radially, or obliquely in relation to the radial direction, or helically from the center of the base panel to the periphery of the base panel. The spring elements are mechanically, hydraulically, pneumatically or electrically displaceable, so that the wobble distance of the seat cover and the attenuation of the wobble movement are variable.

The altitude-optimized, pressurized suit consists of a sheath of a sparingly expansible textile material. This sheath has fastened in it, and on it, by sewing, adhesive bonding or welding, compartments which are formed by virtue of the sheath being doubled, in that a strip of textile material is applied to the inside, or in the second case to the outside, of the sheath, and therefore it is connected to the sheath if only along its periphery. These compartments likewise consist of textile materials, in the first case of the same material as the sheath, and in the second case of an expansible knitted fabric. Flexible tubes-which expand under pressure are introduced into these compartments. The first-mentioned compartments act as 'spacers' for tightening the suit over the topography of the wearer's body. The second-mentioned compartments act as 'muscles' and press locally onto the wearer's body.

Acceleration protective suit

The present invention relates to an autonomous stratosphere platform which is preferably intended to be positioned in the stratosphere, is carried by a carrying shield () and is controlled by a control and drive unit () which can use control elements () to control the carrying shield () via lines (). A cable () is used to connect the control and drive unit () to a capsule () which is intended to hold a payload and the requisite electrical and electronic components for operating the autonomous stratosphere platform. A control element () having an anchoring shield () is fastened to the capsule (), again on a cable (). The stratosphere platform experiences uplift as a result of the wind gradient between the wind layer of the anchoring shield () and that of the carrying shield (). The control element () and the control and drive unit () contain at least one respective GPS receiver and radio means for transmitting their coordinates to a receiver in the capsule (), as well as a respective cable pulley for changing the length of the cable (). The cable (), the capsule (), the control and drive unit () and the control element () have radar transponders () or L&#xfc;neburg lenses for passive localization.

Autonomous stratosphere platform

Disclosed is an anti-buckling device () which is made of an elastic material and comprises several ribs () that extend in the longitudinal direction thereof, the space between two ribs () forming a groove (). The anti-buckling device () is inserted into a thin-walled duct. The anti-buckling device () prevents the duct from buckling and thus from being occluded in a bend when said duct is bent. A fluid is able to circulate within the duct and bypass the bend in the grooves () of the anti-buckling device (). The envelope of the cross section of the anti-buckling device is essentially lenticular as a duct having a round cross section also becomes lenticular in a bend.

Anti-buckling device for thin-walled fluid ducts

An altitude protection device for an acceleration protection suit having a plurality of liquid-filled veins is comprised of a bladder inserted in a pocket. A spacer fabric that is non-compressible under the loads to be provided is enclosed in the pocket and defines a minimum volume inside the bladder. The bladder is closed off or opened relative to surrounding air in the aircraft cabin via a valve that is opened if a rate of pressure change in the cabin is less than or equal to a presettable maximum value, and closed if the rate of pressure change is greater than the value. If the valve closes and the pressure falls further, air located in the bladder inflates the bladder and pocket, increasing tensile stress in the fabric, and thereby raising the internal pressure of the veins resulting in increased internal pressure in the entire acceleration protection suit.

Inflatable aircraft

A pneumatic couch includes an airtight envelope divided into a lower skin and an upper skin. The airtight envelope includes low-stretch material. The pneumatic couch also includes at least one valve for inflation with compressed air and deflation. Between the lower skin and the upper skin, a plurality of flexible webs are arranged running in vertical planes substantially parallel to each other. The flexible webs comprise low-stretch material and are joined over the entire length of the flexible webs both to the lower skin and to the upper skin. At an upper and a lower end of the couch, the airtight envelope overlaps the flexible webs and the lower skin and the upper skin are joined airtight. The airtight envelope overlaps an outermost web on a first and second long side and the lower skin and the upper skin are joined airtight. On one long side of the couch both the lower skin and the upper skin continue past the airtight joint, and are taken around a rear wall and joined to each other, and form a back part. The back part is substantially of the same length and shape as an adjacent web, and the rear wall is so constructed that the rear wall can be fastened onto a load bearing wall or to a suitable bearing construction. The couch thereby assumes the shape of a cantilever.

Pneumatic mattress

A take-off device includes a telescopic arrangement of three pipes arranged in a frame. The telescopic arrangement can pivot to a limited extent. The frame is mounted on a horizontal axis running through a center of gravity of the device and a centroidal axis of a lift of an airplane wing, whereby the frame can pivot around the axis. Forces exerted between the telescopic arrangement and the frame are transmitted via a bushing wedged on an outer pipe of the three pipes. A compressed gas accumulator can be opened by means of an actuating pressure signal, whereupon the telescopic arrangement extends outward. A bottom portion of an innermost tube knocks against a fixed point on the ground, which allows the airplane to accelerate to a lift-off speed. After the telescopic arrangement has extended outward, the telescopic arrangement retracts inward using a compressed gas stored in a pressure chamber.

Take-off device for airplanes

The invention relates to a suit for problems associated with orthostasis which is comprised of a pair of trousers made of a slightly stretchable textile material. A plurality of essentially linear or wavy strips ( ) are inserted along the entire length of the trousers. Said strips are made of double-walled, liquid-tight, slightly stretchable textile material. The two layers of this material are connected to one another at connection points. This results in the production of cavities which are filled with a liquid. Suspenders ( ) hold the trousers and are simultaneously constructed as reservoirs ( ) for the liquid. In order to increase the pressure on the abdominal region, a flat bladder ( ) can be placed in the trousers and, like the strips ( ), can be supplied with fluid from the reservoirs ( ). As a result, liquid columns are produced which extend over a large portion of the body height. Said columns build up a compensating pressure on the legs and the lower abdomen. The trousers are closed by two lateral zip fasteners ( ). The knees and genital region are covered by elastic inserts ( ). The strips ( ) are either essentially straight or wavy on both sides.

Suit for problems associated with orthostasis

The suit according to the invention comprises, as well as a textile lining and a skin made of low stretch textile material, a double walled skin lying between them, made of moderately stretchable watertight material. The latter is made of walls, which are joined together at connection positions for instance by welding. The mutually communicating hollow spaces arising thereby in the double walled skin are filled with a fluid. The suit is closed by zip fasteners ( ) and by shoulder straps ( ). Short zip fasteners ( ) in the crotch facilitate putting on the suit. The front part ( ), armlets ( ) thorax part ( ) can be equipped with various structures of connecting positions, which however are arranged similarly on both halves of the suit. All the named parts ( ) can be provided each with two valves ( ) for filling with the fluid and for ventilation. The fluid filled and pre-tensioned, by the outer skin, double walled skin builds up a compensating pressure on the body proportional to the acceleration.

The suit according to the invention comprises, as well as a textile lining and an oversuit, an active part lying between them. This is at least partly made from a layer ( ) on the body side and a layer ( ) away from it, both of a fluid-tight, low stretch textile material, which are connected to each other at connection positions ( ) by gluing, welding or sewing and thereby create hollow spaces ( ), which are filled with fluid through valves ( ). Between regions, which comprise the layers ( ), for instance the upper part ( ) and the front part ( ), joining parts can be arranged, which transmit tensile forces only. This builds up a compensating pressure proportional to the acceleration working in the momentary and local direction on the parts of the body lying beneath and thus takes the load off the organism of the pilot arising from the effects of such accelerations. The suit is closed by zip fasteners ( ), matched to the current bodily conditions of the wearer by velcro fasteners and tensioned by zip fasteners or a hydraulic tensioning device.

The active part of the suit comprises in part one layer (,) facing the body and another one facing away from it, both of a gas-tight, low stretch textile material, which are joined together at connecting positions (,) by gluing, welding or sewing and thereby create hollow spaces (,), which are connected together via valves (,) and can be put under pressure. Between the regions, which comprise the layers (,)&mdash;bands (,)&mdash;connecting parts (,) are arranged, which transmit tensile forces only. If the hollow spaces (,) are put under a gas pressure proportional to the z-acceleration, then the suit builds up a compensating applied pressure and thus frees the organism of the pilot from the loading effects of such accelerations. By a suitable choice of the width of the bands (,) in conjunction with the radius of the enclosed part of the body a compensating pressure to the hydrostatic pressure, proportional to the acceleration, of the body fluids can be set up.
