A surgical microscope includes an image capture unit having an image sensor, a detection beam path, an image evaluation unit, a connection region for attaching a protective glass module with an objective protective glass. The image sensor has a detection region which has a used detection region for capturing the object region, and a partial detection region, which is not assigned to the used detection region. The image capture unit is configured such that, when the protective glass module with the objective protective glass is arranged at the connection region, a detail of the protective glass module with the objective protective glass is capturable by the partial detection region of the image sensor. The image evaluation unit is configured to generate a signal when an objective protective glass is detectable by the evaluation of the image data of the partial detection region of the image sensor.

A holding element for a drape for a surgical microscope is provided. The holding element has a holding ring and a recess located in the holding ring for an interface of the surgical microscope. The holding ring has an asymmetrical contour delimiting the recess such that in a condition in which the holding element is fastened to the surgical microscope there is only one possible fastening position of the holding element on the interface of the surgical microscope that corresponds to the contour of the holding ring, in which position an orientation of the holding element relative to the surgical microscope is defined.

In a device for releasing a securing screw for a unit in a housing, in particular a pinion unit in a steering gear of a motor vehicle, the securing screw is connected via an external thread to an internal thread in the housing, wherein the securing screw is provided with a latching device, which has latching levers disposed distributed on the circumference of the securing screw, each of which said latching levers is provided with latching lugs disposed on the free ends of the latching levers. The latching lugs latch into teething gaps of a teething geometry of the housing. The latching devices can be connected to a tool in order to release the latching levers having the latching lugs from the latched position by means of a radially inwardly directed movement of the latching levers.
