A system for measuring the presence and/or the concentration of an analysis substance dissolved in a bodily fluid includes a light source configured to emit excitation light and an optical device. The optical device defines, for the excitation light, an excitation beam path from the light source to a measurement region of a sample and, for scattered light from the measurement region of the sample, a detection beam path from the measurement region of the sample to a detection device. The system also includes a detection device configured to detect the scattered light. The detection device includes a light-sensitive sensor and a filter element arranged in the detection beam path, the filter element being designed to suppress a transmission of light with wavelengths outside of an analysis wavelength range around a Raman resonance of the analysis substance.

System for measuring the presence and/or the concentration of an analysis substance dissolved in a bodily fluid

A method for encoding a plate-like workpiece comprising: defining an encoding area; applying a magnetic layer to the surface of the workpiece; fusing parts of the magnetic layer to the surface of the workpiece by acting on the workpiece with radiation within the encoding area; cooling the workpiece; removing the non-fused parts of the magnetic layer. The method permits the workpieces to be trackable in a simple manner, irrespective of surface treatments that may possibly be carried out or are to be carried out later.

Encoding and identifying a plate-like workpiece

Methods and devices for coding and identifying plate-type workpieces are provided. The methods include: coding a workpiece by producing a code with a local modification in a material structure of a base material of the workpiece within a coding region, reading out the code by performing an eddy-current measurement of a local distribution of an electrical conductivity and/or a permeability of the base material by an eddy-current sensor along a reading-out section in a reading region at least partially including the coding region, a signal calibrated to a distance of the eddy-current sensor from a surface of the reading region being determined for reading out the code, storing the read-out code in a storage device, repeating the reading out of the code by repeatedly performing the eddy-current measurement, and identifying the workpiece by comparing the stored read-out code in the storage device and the repeated read-out code.

Coding and identifying plate-type workpieces

Optical arrangements for processing a workpiece include a fiber laser arrangement for emitting laser radiation, a fiber arrangement directly coupled to the fiber laser arrangement and configured to guide the laser radiation in a direction to the workpiece to be processed, the fiber arrangement including a transport fiber having a fiber core and at least one fiber cladding surrounding the fiber core, and at least one coupling device for coupling a portion of the laser radiation guided in the fiber arrangement into at least one fiber cladding of the transport fiber. The coupling device has a spectral bandwidth of at least the same magnitude as a spectral bandwidth of the laser radiation. The fiber laser arrangement is configured to change a beam profile of the guided laser radiation to shift the spectral bandwidth of the laser radiation relative to the spectral bandwidth of the coupling device.

Optical arrangements for processing a workpiece

Methods, devices and systems for laser-supported plasma cutting or plasma welding of a workpiece. In one aspect, a method includes producing a plasma beam which extends in an expansion direction between an electrode and a processing location on the workpiece, the plasma beam having, with respect to a center axis of the plasma beam that extends in the expansion direction, an inner central region and an outer edge region, and supplying laser radiation to the outer edge region of the plasma beam. The laser radiation supplied to the outer edge region extends parallel with the center axis of the plasma beam.
