A liquid ejection head includes a first ejection opening group in which a plurality of ejection openings that eject a particular kind of liquid onto a print medium are arranged in a predetermined direction, and a second ejection opening group that is provided along the first ejection opening group to eject the particular kind of liquid onto the print medium. The first ejection opening group is provided upstream of the second ejection opening group with respect to a relative moving direction between the print head and the liquid ejection head. The plurality of ejection openings included in the first ejection opening group are disposed in the predetermined direction in a zigzag shape, and the liquid ejected from the ejection openings adjacent to each other in the predetermined direction come in contact with each other on the print medium.

Liquid ejection head and method for ejecting liquids

In a method to adjust print quality of print images in an electrophoretic digital printer with at least one print group, the print group generates charge images of the print images. The charge images are developed with a developer station into toner images using liquid developer having carrier fluid and toner. The toner images are transfer-printed onto a carrier medium in a transfer station. A first control marking is generated on the recording medium with elements of the first control marking being aligned transverse to a printing direction. A shape of the elements of the first control marking is measured to generate a first measurement signal. The first measurement signal is compared with a predetermined nominal value, and given a difference, an adjustment signal is generated via which an amount of the carrier fluid in the liquid developer is modified so that the first measurement signal approaches the predetermined nominal value.

Method to adjust the print quality of print images in an electrophoretic digital printer

In a method to control a color printer or color copier, a color separation of a first color and a color separation of a second color are applied to a printing substrate to generate a print image. Also, with aid of a printing unit, at least a first control field is printed on the printing substrate. The first control field has a predetermined pattern that includes at least the first color and the second color and is designed such that a color value of the first control field changes depending on a registration error between the first and the second color separations. A reference field is also printed on the printing substrate, a pattern of the reference field being predetermined such that it has a same color value independent of the registration error. The color value of the first control field is measured with a color value sensor. The color value of the reference field is also measured with the color value sensor and a desired color value is determined depending on the color value of the reference field. A deviation between the measured color value of the first control field and the desired color value is determined, the deviation corresponding to a spatial shift of the color separations. At least one control signal is generated to reduce the spatial shift depending on the determined deviation.

Method for controlling color separations registration

In a method to convert color-describing input print data suitable for graphical output with aid of an output apparatus into color-describing output print data, color proportions, defined by the input print data, of at least one region to be inked with at least two color separations, are determined, and a color space value to be generated with aid of the color separations is determined. An association rule is determined to convert the input print data into the output print data while retaining the color space value. A total areal coverage of areal coverages defined by the output print data of the color separations to generate the color space value is reduced relative to areal coverages of the color separations defined by the input print data. The input print data is converted into the output print data with aid of the determined association rule.

Method and apparatus for converting color-describing input data, which are suitable for graphical output using an output device, into color-describing adapted output data

In order to be able to print a prescribed target color with a printing system, the color data of the target color and of the mixed color compounded with parts of the primary colors are compared, and the addition of the parts is varied until adequate similarity has been achieved between the color data of the target color and of the mixed color. In a further step, the mixed color is printed out, the color data of the printed mixed color are identified, and these are compared to those of the target color. Given inadequate similarity, additional parts of the primary colors are added to the mixed color until the respectively printed mixed color has its color data adequately coinciding with the color data of the target color. The mixed color corresponding to the target color is produced from the identified parts and additional parts of the primary colors.

Method for producing a mixed color that is mixed from primary colors and corresponds to a prescribed target color

In order to adapt the colors of a second printing system to those of a first printing system, the primary colors of the two printing systems that deviate from one another are first identified. Subsequently, the deviating primary colors of the second printing system are adapted to those of the first printing system in that parts of other primary colors are mixed to the deviating primary color to form a mixed primary color until an adequate similarity to the corresponding primary color of the first printing system has been achieved.

Method for adapting the colors printed by a second printing system to the colors printed by a first printing system

The present invention describes a process for preparing a toner mixture comprising mixing a first toner with at least one further toner wherein the first toner has an acid value of from 0.1 to 30 mgKOH/g and comprises at least one binder resin and at least one coloring agent wherein said binder comprises as the main component a polyester resin and wherein the further toners comprise at least a binder resin and optionally at least one coloring agent. It also describes a developer composition comprising said toner mixture and optionally a carrier. The new toner mixture does not show any de-mixing phenomenon during repeated use.
