A method and device providing that the corners of a respective laundry item are transferred one by one from a conveyor to spreading clamps of a pair of spreading clamps at the same position in each case. The respective conveyor therefore only requires a single circulatory track. Laundry items in commercial laundries are fed by at least one conveyor to spreading clamps of an input machine. In this case, each corner delimiting a front edge of the laundry item is held by a clamp of the conveyor. The respective conveyor is usually branched, in order for the corners to be transferred at the same time to the two spreading clamps of a pair of spreading clamps. Thus, the respective conveyor must have a branched track system with appropriate switches.

Method and device for the transport and/or spreading-out of laundry items hung on clamps

Items of laundry () are fed, in laundries, to a laundry-treatment device with adjacent corners () of an upper edge () hanging beneath two clip carriages (). It is customary for the items of laundry () to be stored in a sorted state on an interim basis upstream of the laundry-treatment device. The invention provides for adjacent clip carriages () of successive items of laundry () to be assigned in pairs to drivers () of a catch conveyor (). The invention also provides for the sagging of the upper edge (), and the lowermost location () of the lower edge (), of the item of laundry () to be determined by a line-measuring device (), in order for the item of laundry () to be identified in this way.

Method of, and apparatus for, transporting and/or measuring items of laundry

A method and apparatus in which laundry cakes (), formed when washed laundry articles are for the most part freed in a dewatering press of the treatment liquid bound in them giving rise to a laundry cake () consisting of coherent laundry articles, are divided from the end face () by a roller-like divider () which can be driven in rotation about a horizontal axis of rotation (), which axis of rotation () runs parallel to the end face () of the laundry cake () to be divided, and an effective division of the laundry cake () which takes care of the laundry articles is carried out.

Method and apparatus for dividing and/or separating a laundry batch, in particular a laundry cake or the like

According to the invention, the items of laundry (,) are grasped successively by a gripper (,), are lifted up and taken over by a transfer means (,) which transports the respective item of laundry (,) through a gap (,). The gap (,) of the transfer means (,) ensures that only individual items of laundry (,) can be transported on further by the transfer means (,) and a force which is required for completely pulling out the respective item of laundry (,) from the pile of laundry (,) can be exerted on the item of laundry (,). As a result, reliable separating of items of laundry (,) from a pile of laundry (,) is ensured.

Device for separating items of laundry

Items of laundry (11) released from a washing machine as a pile of laundry (10) have to be separated before they can be processed further. The aim is to automate this separating procedure. Known methods for automating the separating of items of laundry (11) are still inadequate. According to the invention, the items of laundry (11) are grasped successively by a gripper (23), are lifted up and taken over by a transfer means (24) which transports the respective item of laundry (11) through a gap (29). The gap (29) of the transfer means (24) ensures that only individual items of laundry (11) can be transported on further by the transfer means (24) and a force which is required for completely pulling out the respective item of laundry (11) from the pile of laundry (10) can be exerted on the item of laundry (11). As a result, reliable separating of items of laundry (11) from a pile of laundry (10) is ensured.
