The invention relates to an illuminating device for a microscope with an illumination magazine comprising a plurality of light emitting units. A mechanical illuminator changer can change the light emitting unit currently active in the operative position. A filter magazine having a plurality of filter units is present, wherein a mechanical filter changer for changing the filter unit currently in the active operative position is associated with the filter magazine. At least one mechanical coupling component is provided for cooperation with the filter changer and the illuminator and for uniquely assigning each filter unit to a specific light emitting unit.

Illumination device for a microscope

For the microscopy of an object or a specimen with a combination of optical microscopy and particle beam microscopy, an electrically conducting specimen carrier () is used which is configured for use in a particle beam microscope as well as in an optical microscope and has at least one alignment mark (). The alignment mark is configured as a pass-through structure and is detectable from the top and from the bottom of the specimen carrier.

The invention is directed to a multispectral illumination device for a microscope or for a reader. According to the invention, the illumination device comprises at least three receptacle positions for lighting modules and at least one receptacle position for coupling modules, the mechanical devices for connecting the lighting modules or coupling modules at the receptacle positions to the illumination device being designed in such a way that the lighting modules or coupling modules can be easily changed. Further, the receptacle positions are arranged in such a way that, with suitable selection of the lighting modules and coupling modules, all individual spectra of the lighting modules in a total spectrum are available simultaneously at the output of the illumination device.

The present invention is directed to a controllable microscope illumination within a microscope system by which all essential contrasting methods in microscopy can be realized. The illumination device according to the invention comprises a plurality of individual light sources which can be regulated with respect to brightness, wherein these individual light sources are formed as unit cells and form a luminous surface by a periodic arrangement. In an advantageous arrangement, imaging optics are associated with each individual light source in order to magnify the image of the source surface of the individual light source so that the images of the source surfaces of adjacent individual light sources touch. Illumination variants for all of the essential contrasting methods in microscopy can be generated by way of the proposed solution. The proposed LED illumination is electronically switchable, can be regulated with respect to brightness, supplies all colors, is long-lasting and economical. LEDs have a long life and are very robust and insensitive to vibrations. The spatial light distribution and the color temperature are adjustable.

A microscope for observing an object selectably using the bright-field transmitted light contrast procedure or the incident-light fluorescence contrast procedure. During the bright-field transmitted light contrast procedure, an illumination beam path is directed from a bright-field light source to the object and an imaging beam path is directed from the object through the microscope objective into the microscope tube, which includes a fluorescence unit that includes a fluorescence excitation light source, an illumination optical system, a filter set having at least one excitation filter and at least one emission filter, as well as a beamsplitter. The fluorescence unit is mounted movably, so that in a first end position of movement the beamsplitter and the emission filter are out of the imaging beam path of the microscope and in a second end position of movement they are in the imaging beam path between the microscope objective and the microscope tube.

A laser radiation-guiding device including: a laser including a control unit; ports for connection of one module each, it being possible that laser radiation may exit at the ports. The device further can include joining part sensors respectively assigned to a port and whose electrical condition depends on whether a predetermined joining part is spaced apart from the respective port by less than a maximum distance in a predetermined orientation relative to the respective port, and an evaluating unit connected to the joining part sensors via a signal link that detects the electrical conditions of the joining part sensors and, depending on the detected conditions, emits a control signal to the control unit of the laser or to a laser radiation-blocking unit, by which emission of eye-damaging laser radiation to the ports of the device can be prevented inhibited.

In an automatic microscope, there is the task to satisfy the demand for an economical, compact structure, especially a miniaturization as an essential aspect. The automatic microscope contains an optical system having the following: an illumination field () which is at least approximately arranged in the aperture diaphragm plane (ABE) of a condenser () and is used for the illumination of the object; an imaging optic (); and, an image-providing sensor () arranged in the image plane of the imaging optic.

The invention relates to an illuminating device for microscopes, wherein the light source has, in particular, a white light illumination having total daylight spectrum and/or an excitation light source for fluorescent colors. The inventive illuminating device for a microscope consists of surface or spatially arranged light sources, which are connected to a control unit for generating any desired illuminating patterns and illuminating spectrums, and an illuminating optic to image these illuminating patterns on the object to be examined. The light sources consist of LEDs () which excite at least one luminescence color () which is adapted to the wavelength which is emitted by the LEDs (). The LEDs () are arranged concentrically to the optical axis of the illuminating device, preferably, in or in the vicinity of the aperture diaphragm plane. The microscope illumination enables realization of flexible illumination structures and illumination spectrums for bright field, dark field, fluorescence, inclined and/or annularly-shaped illumination, and also white light illuminations having total daylight spectrum. Due to the advantages of the LEDs (economical, low power consumption, long service life and easy to control), such illumination devices are particularly suitable for use in the field, for example, in archaeology, geology and in protecting the environment.
