There is provided mechanisms for transmission of reference signal resources from a terminal device. A method is performed by the terminal device. The terminal device comprises at least two antenna panels and a baseband chain operable to be switched between the at least two antenna panels. The baseband chain is thereby connected to each of the antenna panels one at a time. The method comprises distributing a fixed set of reference signal resources among the at least two antenna panels by selecting which beams are to be used for transmission of the reference signal resources. The reference signal resources are distributed among the at least two antenna panels according to antenna panel selection information. The method comprises transmitting each of the reference signal resources in a respective one of the beams as the baseband chain is connected to each antenna panel used for generating the beams.

Transmission of reference signal resources and configuration thereof

A technique for transmitting data on at least two subbands () of a radio channel (). As to a method aspect of the technique performed by a radio device, control information indicative of at least two precoders for the at least two subbands () of the radio channel () is received. Indication of Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) states for aperiodic Channel State Information-Reference Signal (CSI-RS) with low configuration overhead is provided. More specifically, methods performed by a wireless device(s) and a base station(s) for indicating a configuration parameter(s) for triggering aperiodic CSI-RS are provided. The methods disclosed herein make it possible for triggering aperiodic CSI-RS with multiple options (e.g., any of indicated TCI states and/or Quasi Co-Located relationships). As a result, it is possible to significantly reduce configuration overhead related to indicating aperiodic CSI-RS.

There is provided mechanisms for polarized reception of reference signals. A method is performed by a terminal device. The terminal device is equipped with an antenna array having dual-polarized antenna elements. The antenna array is connected to a baseband chain in the terminal device. The method comprises receiving, during a beam management procedure with a TRP, two reference signals transmitted in one OFDM symbol each from the same TRP port within a slot. The two reference signals are received using a filter with a first polarization for a first of the two reference signals and with a second polarization for a second of the two reference signals. The second polarization is orthogonal to the first polarization.

Polarized reception of reference signals at a terminal device

Systems and methods for implicitly activating one or more Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) states are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless communication device for implicit TCI state activation includes sending a measurement report for one or more reference signals to a base station. The one or more reference signals are related to one or more TCI states, respectively. The method further includes activating at least one TCI state from among the one or more TCI states that are related to the one or more reference signals. In this way, the TCI state selection may be expedited and simplified because additional Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) activation message may be avoided.

There is provided mechanisms for scheduling communication with terminal devices. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises receiving, in response to having performed a beam management procedure involving transmission of reference signals in a set of beams, a beam report from each of the terminal devices. Each beam report indicates one of the beams as top ranked. The method comprises scheduling communication for the terminal devices in beams of the set of beams. At least a first terminal device of the terminal devices and a second terminal device of the terminal devices are both scheduled in a first beam of the beams not indicated as top ranked in the beam report of the second terminal device.

Efficient scheduling of terminal devices

There is provided mechanisms for beam related statistics aided resumed beamformed communication with a terminal device. A method is performed by a radio access network node. The method comprises providing network access to the terminal device by, in a first set of beams, performing beamformed communication with the terminal device until the terminal device leaves radio resource control (RRC) connected mode. The method comprises storing beam related statistics of the beamformed communication. The method comprises providing resumed network access to the terminal device by, in a second set of beams, performing resumed beamformed communication with the terminal device upon the terminal entering RRC connected mode. How to perform the resumed beamformed communication is based on the beam related statistics.

There is presented a wireless device for dual-polarization beamforming. The wireless device comprises an antenna array. The antenna array comprises antenna elements of mutually orthogonal polarizations and a baseband chain. The antenna elements of both polarizations are operatively connected to the baseband chain. There is also presented a method for dual-polarization beamforming as performed by such a wireless device.

A method, wireless device and network node for performing sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission. According to one aspect a method includes receiving a definition of one or more SRS resource sets to be configured, comprising at least one SRS transmission setting. The method further includes receiving an indication of a selected SRS resource set to use for a SRS transmission, from the one or more configured SRS resource sets and determining a precoding configuration for the SRS transmission based on the selected SRS resource set and the at least one SRS transmission setting. The method also includes transmitting a SRS according to the determined precoding configuration.

There is provided a method, in a wireless device, for transmitting a reference signal. The method comprises: receiving a configuration via Radio Resource Control (RRC) from a network node, the configuration comprising a list of slot offset values configured for a Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) resource set; receiving Downlink Control Information (DCI) triggering the SRS resource set, wherein the DCI contains a slot offset bitfield for indicating one of the slot offset values in the list of slot offset values and wherein each entry of the list of slot offset values corresponds to a codepoint of the slot offset bitfield; and transmitting a reference signal using SRS resources configured in the triggered SRS resource set based on the indicated slot offset value.

There is provided mechanisms for interference handling. A method is performed by a radio access network node. The method comprises obtaining an indication of interference in a time/frequency interval. The method comprises querying a neighbouring radio access network node about scheduling in the time/frequency interval of uplink wireless transmission from any terminal device served by the neighbouring radio access network node. The method comprises receiving a response from the neighbouring radio access network node. The response comprises information identifying uplink reference signal resources/ports, and their scheduling, as to be used by the terminal device scheduled in the time/frequency interval.
