A tank system () for a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine to which fuel is supplied from a tank (), wherein the tank () is assigned, in a ventilation path to the atmosphere (), a flushable filter device () for being loaded with hydrocarbon vapors of the fuel. The filter device () has multiple mutually separate activated carbon filters (). All of the activated carbon filters () are connected permanently in parallel. In this way, the ventilation resistance from the tank in the direction of the atmosphere can be kept low.

Tank system for a motor vehicle

A vehicle component for a motor vehicle includes a coupling device including two couplable coupling elements configured to provide, in a coupled state, a fuel-tight connection of two fuel-conducting lines. One of the coupling elements is in a form of a metallic female element which is fixedly connectable to one of the two lines, and an other one of the coupling elements is in a form of a metallic male element which is fixedly connectable to an other one of the two lines. The male element, for coupling purposes, is insertable into the female element, wherein, in the coupled state, an axially extending overlap section with at least one radial seal device is formed between the female element and the male element. A securing device is configured to secure the coupling elements in the coupled state against inadvertent release from one another.

Vehicle component and motor vehicle

A filter bleeding measurement arrangement for the pressure-neutral determination of the fuel vapor emissions of a fuel vapor filter includes a flame ionization detector with a gas inlet and a gas outlet, and a measurement adapter including a measurement connection for connection of the fuel vapor filter, a separate detector connection for connection of the flame ionization detector, and an air inlet fluidically connected to an external atmosphere.

Filter bleeding measurement arrangement and tank bleeding measurement arrangement

A filter device for a motor vehicle includes a housing having a receiving space with a first chamber having an adsorption medium and a second chamber having a further adsorption medium, wherein the first chamber and the second chamber are designed such that flow can pass through them in series from a first inflow opening of the filter device to an outflow opening of the filter device via the receiving space. The filter device further includes a partition between the first chamber and the second chamber for a series flow through the first chamber and the second chamber; a flow transfer chamber for flow through the receiving space, the flow transfer chamber being designed to connect the first chamber and the second chamber such that flow can pass through; and a barrier formed in the receiving space for diverting the loading flow and/or the purging flow.

Filter device for a motor vehicle

An activated carbon filter apparatus has a housing with an interior space with an activated carbon filter arranged therein. The activated carbon filter is divided into a first region and a second region. An activated carbon filling is in each region. The two regions are divided into different sections by dividing walls. The sections being filled with activated carbon, and the sections of one region and the two sections at the transition between the first region and the second region are connected fluidically to one another by crossflow regions. A void volume is provided in the first region and/or in the second region below an activated carbon filling of one section to receive desorbed hydrocarbons.

Activated carbon filter apparatus

A method for determining a buffer effect of an activated carbon filter for a tank venting system of a fuel container for hydrocarbon-containing fuels involves feeding a defined quantity of hydrocarbon molecules to the activated carbon filter () via a tank connection (_) of the activated carbon filter () by a hydrocarbon feed system (). A carrier gas flow is introduced into the activated carbon filter () via an air connection (_) of the activated carbon filter (), and a defined volumetric flow is sucked out of the activated carbon filter () via an engine connection (_) of the activated carbon filter () by a hydrocarbon measuring device (), and its content of hydrocarbon molecules is measured. The defined quantity of hydrocarbon molecules is made available by the hydrocarbon feed system () in the form of a thermodynamically isolated gas quantity.

Method for determining a buffer effect of an activated carbon filter

A filter device for the exchange of gas between the fuel tank for liquid fuel and an environment has a chamber sealed in a fluid-tight manner. A first port leads into the chamber for fluid connection to the fuel tank. A second port into leads the chamber for fluid connection to the environment. A granular filter material is in the chamber. The chamber is designed for optionally accommodating a monolithic filter element in addition to the granular filter material.

Filter device and filter system

A pressure tank system for a motor vehicle has a fuel tank () operated in a differential pressure range between a low pressure and a high pressure. To ensure a simple construction and can be produced cost-effective construction, the low pressure is between ambient pressure minus 50 hectopascals ambient pressure and plus 50 hectopascals.

Pressure tank system for a motor vehicle

A tank ventilation system of a fuel tank () has at least one housing () with a tank-side fuel vapor inlet opening (), an engine-side fuel vapor outlet opening () and an atmosphere opening (). The housing () has at least one first adsorption region () and a second adsorption region () upstream of the fuel vapor outlet opening (). The second adsorption region () has a substantially lower absorption capacity than the first adsorption region (), which is placed in a direction of flow toward the atmosphere opening ().

Filter arrangement for a tank ventilation system of a fuel tank

A fuel system () for a motor vehicle internal combustion engine, having a fuel tank () with a fuel vapor venting path () containing an activated carbon filter (), in which a fresh air stream () blown or sucked in the direction of the tank venting valve () by an independent pump unit () arranged close to the activated carbon filter () can be made to flow through the activated carbon filter (), at least at the periphery thereof and, in that case, preferably at the fresh air side to regenerate said filter.

Fuel system

A method is provided for operating a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine () that is supplied with fuel from a fuel tank (), and having a regeneratable filter device () for taking up fuel vapors from the fuel tank (). To improve properties of fuel vapor retaining systems during operation of motor vehicles, the method includes carrying out a forced start of the internal combustion engine () promptly after a refueling process in order to regenerate the filter device ().

Method for operating a hybrid motor vehicle with forced start and filter regeneration promptly after each refueling

A fuel tank is provided having a plastic container with a cavity for holding fuel. Inner and outer plates are arranged on opposite wall regions of the plastic container. A reinforcement device is arranged between opposite wall regions of the fuel tank and comprises a tension/compression strut extending through the inner plates, wall regions, and outer plates. Axial securing means are provided on free ends of the tension/compression strut. The reinforcement device further comprises a spring device bearing against the inner plates. The reinforcement device is configured to absorb both compressive forces and tensile forces.

Fuel tank

A motor vehicle has an internal combustion engine () that is supplied with fuel from a fuel tank (). A regeneratable filter device () is associated with the fuel tank () and can be connected to a vacuum storage device () for purging the filter device (). To simplify and/or improve the regeneration of the filter device, the vacuum storage device () is arranged outside an intake tract of the internal combustion engine () and is associated with the fuel tank ().

Motor vehicle

A method is provided to prevent an undesirable flooding or breaching of an activated charcoal filter during the operation of a hybrid vehicle or of a motor vehicle with automatic start/stop. The method includes monitoring during the operation of the vehicle at least one factor that has an effect on the fuel evaporation and using the monitored factor to prevent an undesirable flooding or breaching of the activated charcoal filter.

Method for operating a fuel evaporation retention system

A tank ventilation system for a motor vehicle includes a tank () for combustible fuels. An activated carbon filter () is connected to the tank () via a connecting line () and adsorbs hydrocarbon vapors of the tank () for deaeration. An electrically activatable check valve () is in the connecting line. A differential pressure sensor () measures the pressure difference between the vapor chamber () of the tank () and the environment. The connecting line is formed without a vacuum valve. A mechanical vacuum valve () is provided for tank aeration with respect to the environment. The check valve is closed if the pressure difference measured by the differential pressure sensor is below a fixed, positive threshold value, and is open if the pressure difference is above the threshold value.
