The invention relates to an MR imaging method for representing and determining the position of a medical device inserted in an examination object, and to a medical device used in the method. In accordance with the invention, the device () comprises at least one passive oscillating circuit with an inductor () and a capacitor (). The resonance frequency of this circuit substantially corresponds to the resonance frequency of the injected high-frequency radiation from the MR system. In this way, in a locally limited area situated inside or around the device, a modified signal answer is generated which is represented with spatial resolution.

MR imaging method and medical device for use in method

The invention relates to a magnetic resonance imaging process for the imaging and determination of the position of a stent introduced into an examination object as well as to the stent so utilized. According to the invention, the stent has at least one passive resonance circuit with an inductance and a capacitance whereby its resonance frequency is essentially equal to the resonance frequency of the applied high-frequency radiation of the magnetic resonance system. A changed signal response is thus produced in a locally defined area in or around the stent which is imaged in spatial resolution.

An endoscopic surgical device has a tubular shaft and an instrument carrier inside and moveable relative to the tubular shaft. A switch mechanism with which the device may be selectively switched into different operational states is coupled to movement of the instrument carrier.

In an endoscope tube system, an elastically bendable section is constructed of individual members spaced with respect to one another. A stabilizing spring band and a tension spring band are provided. The spring bands extend in a mutually opposite manner axially along the circumferential area of the individual members and at least one of the bands have a natural curvature which is opposite to the bending direction of the bendable section. The individual members are fixed on the stabilizing spring band, while the tension spring band is only connected with the most forward individual member. This construction of the bendable section requires no tension cables and is therefore operationally reliable, easy to take apart, and easy to clean.

Endoscope tube system

A surgical instrument for creating a tissue canal in which to seat a sleeve has a shaft tube with a knife blade at its distal end to form an incision and an insert to transform the incision into the tissue canal. The knife blade is formed as an axially projecting portion of the distal edge of the shaft tube and has a ground edge for cutting in the circumferential direction of the shaft tube. The insert is slidable mounted in the shaft tube and has a distal blunt end located adjacent the distal end of the shaft tube.

In a surgical stitching apparatus for endoscopically performing sutures of tissue or vessels having a drive mechanism including concentric tubes with an operating handle structure at one end and a stitching head mounted at the distal end thereof, the stitching head includes a stationary and a movable mouthpiece each with clamping structures for engaging the tips of a needle each comprising movable and stationary halves with the movable half on the stationary mouthpiece being operatively connected to one of the concentric tubes and the movable mouthpiece being connected to another of the concentric tubes which is hand-operable by a movable handle on the operating handle structure, and the one concentric tube is operable by a pedal switch-controlled mechanism mounted on the operating handle structure for foot operation of the clamping structure on the stationary mouthpiece.

Surgical stitching apparatus

A coagulation, washing and suction instrument has a shaft having a washing and a suction canal, by way of which a washing fluid can be supplied to, or removed from, respectively, a bodily cavity. The instrument consists of three detachably connected parts, namely a shaft having a washing and a suction canal; a handle which can be pushed onto, and secured to, the proximal end of the shaft, the handle being made of an insulating material and having a high frequency connector for supplying a coagulation electrode on the distal end of the shaft, and finger pressure releasable connection canals for the supply to, and the removal from, the canals of the shafts, of the washing fluid; and a part for the introduction of auxiliary instruments, which can be coupled proximally to the shaft and to the handle and which can be shut off.

An instrument set comprises an outer tube and an inner tube projecting distally over the outer tube, between which at least two channels for retaining forceps extend, an observation optical system which can be introduced through the inner shaft, dilators to widen the opening in the organs, wounds or the like, a working optical system having a channel for instruments to be introduced and which can be exchanged for the observation optical system, and a clip applicator having a clip which can be pushed onto the clip applicator and can be pushed off in the distal direction for closing a dilated opening in organs, wounds and the like.

The bipolar coagulating instrument has an outer barrel whose distal end is provided with two halves of a first jaw member, said halves being angled relative to the longitudinal axis and being spaced apart from one another. An inner barrel is similarly provided with a second jaw member, which also has halves obliquely angled relative to the longitudinal axis and spaced apart from one another. The second jaw member is axially displaceable towards the first jaw member. At least one of the two jaw members has recesses which are connected to a distally open end of an irrigation passage in the inner barrel. A cutting forceps or the like can be passed through a channel in the inner barrel and through the gap between the two sets of jaw member halves.
