In a method for operating a force-sensor-less electromechanical service brake of a vehicle, a current profile of a force-displacement characteristic is determined and stored during a closing of a parking brake when the vehicle is being parked. The current profile of the force-displacement characteristic is used during a subsequent trip to set a required braking force on the electromechanical service brake.

A brake-by-wire braking system for a vehicle having at least two wheels which are able to be braked is described. The braking system comprises at least two brake actuator units, each of which can be associated with one of the wheels of the vehicle which are able to be braked. The braking system further comprises a brake actuation unit for actuation by the driver for braking, having at least one sensor for detecting an activation of the brake actuation unit by the driver, an acceleration actuation unit having at least one sensor for detecting the activation of the acceleration actuation unit by the driver, and at least one electronic control unit which is adapted to operate one or both of the brake actuator units in order to bring about a braking force at an associated wheel. The control unit is adapted to operate the brake actuator units on the basis of an activation of the acceleration activation unit in the event of a fault or failure of the brake actuation unit.

Brake-by-wire braking system

In a method for operating a force-sensor-less electromechanical service brake in a brake system of a vehicle, a current value of a braking contact point and a current profile of a force-displacement characteristic of the electromechanical service brake are determined as a function of the total rotation angle of a shaft of an electric motor of the electromechanical service brake. These values are determined in regular driving operation of the vehicle. In the case of a braking request, the electric motor is activated in accordance with the current value of the braking contact point and the current profile of the force-displacement characteristic in order to satisfy the braking request. The electric motor has a detection element, which detects the total rotation angle of the shaft and a rotation rate of the electric motor.

The disclosure relates to a method for controlling a vehicle braking system on the basis of vehicle-specific data, wherein the vehicle braking system comprises individually actuatable brakes. In the method, a braking operation is detected, a status condition is queried during a temporal observation window, and a yaw variable present and a physical characterizing variable present at the same time are detected. Subsequently, the detected yaw variable is stored and the yaw variable is assigned to a data set. This is repeated in order to create a database. Further, a corrective braking force is determined and the braking force of a brake is automatically adjusted depending on the corrective braking force to reduce the yaw variable. The disclosure also relates to an apparatus for compensating a yaw moment acting on a vehicle.

A device for detecting a driver demand, the device outputting a purely electronic actuating signal, includes an actuating surface, for a foot of a user, the actuating surface being displaceable in an actuation direction in order to generate the actuating signal. At least two compression bodies arranged one behind the other in the actuation direction are provided, each of which has one elastic element and one rigid element, which are arranged one behind the other in the actuation direction in such a way that one rigid element acts on one elastic element when the actuating surface is acted upon by an actuation force. In addition, a sensor system is provided, the signal of which permits an inference to be made regarding the displacement of the actuating surface and is usable for generating the actuating signal.

A hydraulic motor vehicle braking system includes a first sensor device, a first functional unit, a second functional unit and a switching device. The first functional unit comprises at least one first electrical brake pressure generator, by means of which a brake pressure can be generated on respective wheel brakes, and a first control system which is designed to control the at least one first electrical brake pressure generator on the basis of a sensor signal of the sensor device. A hydraulic brake system for a land vehicle includes a brake pedal; a wheel brake; and a master brake cylinder connected to the brake pedal by a brake booster and a pump. The outlet of the pump is connected to the wheel brake by a supply line and the inlet is connected to the wheel brake by a return line. The pump moves hydraulic fluid to the wheel brake. A temporary store is connected to the inlet of the pump and the wheel brake by the return line. A pressure reduction valve, arranged in the return line of the wheel brake, has a throttling effect in the open state. A control unit compensates for the difference between a total braking torque specified by the brake pedal and a generating braking torque provided by an electric machine by setting the hydraulic braking torque during a regenerative braking process of the vehicle.

A brake system for a land vehicle includes at least one wheel brake; a pump configured to pump hydraulic fluid from the inlet side of the pump to the outlet side of the pump; at least one intermediate store for receiving hydraulic fluid; a hydraulic connection between the intermediate store and the inlet side of the pump; at least one first valve arrangement for blocking a hydraulic connection between the outlet side of the pump and the at least one wheel brake; at least one second valve arrangement for blocking a hydraulic connection between the at least one wheel brake and the inlet side of the pump; and at least one third valve arrangement for blocking a hydraulic connection between the outlet side of the pump and the intermediate store. A method for controlling a brake system is disclosed wherein the braking pressure in at least one wheel brake is reduced by pumping the hydraulic fluid from the at least one wheel brake into the intermediate store, and the second and third valve arrangement are in a conducting position.

The invention relates to a hydraulic braking system for a land vehicle, having at least one wheel brake; a master brake cylinder, which is designed to displace hydraulic fluid into the at least one wheel brake upon actuation of the braking system by the driver; a pump, which is designed to displace hydraulic fluid into the at least one wheel brake; a plurality of valve arrangements; a control unit, which is designed to actuate the pump and the plurality of valve arrangements; and a temporary store, which is connected hydraulically to the at least one wheel brake and to an input of the pump. The temporary store comprises a restoring element and is designed to accommodate a hydraulic fluid reserve volume during a rest state of the braking system, and to make the accommodated hydraulic fluid reserve volume available to the pump for displacement into the at least one wheel brake during an actuation state.

A vehicle brake system comprises an electronic control unit (ECU) for controlling a vehicle brake arrangement, and an electric machine operating as a motor and a generator. The ECU controls valves and the electric machine so that, when a brake pedal is actuated, hydraulic fluid is supplied to a wheel brake from a master cylinder to generate a brake pressure. After a corresponding brake pressure is attained, the supply of hydraulic fluid is disabled, wherein the brake pressure effected by the hydraulic fluid is gradually dissipated, and, correspondingly, the electric machine is operated increasingly as a generator.
