A manually operated press comprising an actuating member coupled to a shaft, wherein an actuation of the actuating member is converted into a stroke movement of a press ram coupled to the shaft, and hence also into a change in a relative position of the press ram. The press furthermore comprises a reset mechanism for resetting the actuating member, which reset mechanism counteracts the actuation of the actuating member and causes a return movement of the press ram opposite the stroke movement. The reset mechanism comprises a spiral spring.

Manually operated press

A spindle drive having a spindle, a spindle nut which is arranged on the spindle, a housing which surrounds the spindle nut, and an overload clutch which is arranged in the housing. The spindle nut and the housing are connected to one another via the overload clutch. The overload clutch is set up to disconnect the spindle nut from the housing in a torque-free manner if a defined overload torque which acts between the spindle nut and the housing is exceeded.

A movable guard for safeguarding a machine, comprising: a protective cover for covering a working area of the machine; a counterweight; a connecting element for connecting the protective cover to the counterweight; a deflection element, which is configured to deflect the connecting element in such a way that the protective cover and the counterweight are movable in mutually opposite directions; and a drive, which acts on the counterweight in order to drive the counterweight.

Movable guard

A press including a drive train having a motor and a press ram, and a housing having a first base plate, a second base plate and at least three columns arranged therebetween. The columns connect the two base plates to one another and keep them spaced apart. A first opening is arranged in the first base plate and a second opening is arranged in the second base plate. At least a part of the motor is arranged on a first side of the first base plate facing away from the columns and at least a part of the press ram is arranged on a second side of the second base plate facing away from the columns. The motor and the press ram are interconnected through the first and second openings.

Disclosed is a slide for supporting matter to be observed under a microscope, including a base, a plurality of electrical conductors disposed on the base, an insulating coating distributed over the base to isolate the matter from the conductor, and a plurality of microscopic perforations through the coating and communicating with the conductors, thereby permitting electrical contact between the conductors and a plurality of precise areas of the matter. The slide further includes a plurality of attraction zones on the surface of the coating adapted to cause matter to accumulate on the slide in a predetermined pattern with respect to the perforations. The slide is manufactured by affixing a plurality of electrical conductors to a base, applying an insulating coating over the base and the conductors, and forming microscopic perforations through the base by focussing a laser beam through the coating and onto a conductor, thereby partially vaporizing the conductor, the resulting vapor pressure causing a microscopic portion of the coating over the conductor to be removed.
