A device is provide for operating a machine tool. The machine tool includes a rotation unit designed to rotate a workpiece about an axis of rotation with an adjustable rotational speed progression, and an ultra-short pulse laser for generating laser pulses, the laser being arranged such that material of the workpiece is removed by means of the laser pulses. The device is configured to adjust the rotational speed progression based on geometry data of a specified geometry and/or a specified surface quality characteristic value representative of a corresponding surface quality.

A method is provided for making electrical contact with an electronic component in the form of a stack formed from a plurality of material layers, which react upon application of an electric field, and a plurality of electrode layers, wherein each material layer is arranged between two of the electrode layers. An insulation structure is generated on at least one stack circumferential region of the stack, which exposes each second electrode layer of the at least one stack circumferential region for electrical contact to be made. Also, a contact-making structure is applied to the at least one stack circumferential region which is provided with the insulation structure. Before the step of generating the contact-making structure, the material layers are partially removed by a material-removing method such that the electrode layers are exposed close to the surface.

A method for producing a piezo actuator includes: providing a green stack including alternately successive green films and inner electrode layers; forming trenches on the outside green stack in areas in which the inner electrode layers are intended to be electrically insulated from the corresponding outer electrodes, the trenches shortening the inner electrode layers from the outside of the green stack toward the inside; filling the trenches with an electrically insulating slurry; further processing the green stack, including filling the trenches with slurry, such that the green films produce piezo electric layers and the green stack produces a piezo stack; mounting two outer electrodes on the outside of the piezo stack, such that the two outer electrodes are alternately electrically connected to the inner electrode layers. The trenches may be filled with the slurry using one of the following methods; screen printing, immersion, spraying, or vacuum infiltration.

A method and related device for machining a workpiece is provided, wherein material of the workpiece is removed in a machining region by a non-contact removal process. The workpiece is excited by means of an excitation oscillation having a natural resonant frequency of the workpiece, or a composite comprising the workpiece and a coupling element that is rigidly coupled to the workpiece is excited by means of an excitation oscillation having a joint natural resonant frequency of the workpiece and the coupling element. The embodiments relate to a piezoelectric component including at least one fully active piezoelectric element comprising electrode layers and piezoelectric layers arranged therebetween. The electrode layers are conveyed to a lateral edge of the piezoelectric element and contacted there. The external electrode is attached in a structured fashion for electrical contacting and/or a structured external electrode is made available: The external electrode essentially includes two components, namely the contacting field and the contacting path. In the event of several piezoelectric elements (piezoelectric actuator in multilayer structure) stacked one above the other, the contacting path functions as a collector electrode, which connects the contacting fields of the piezoelectric elements to one another. The insulation path exists for the electrical insulation of the contacting path from electrode layers which are not to be contacted. A reliable contacting of the electrode layers is possible with the structure according to the invention. A fully active, piezoceramic multilayer actuator with the described contacting is used in automotive engineering for activating fuel injection valves.

According to various production methods for producing a piezoceramic multilayer actuator, in the course of the production method, multilayer locks () are electrochemically or mechanically processed in such a way that a recess structure is obtained. The lateral surfaces () of the electrodes () inside these recesses are electrically insulated using the slip casting method in order to be able to contact the remaining electrodes by imprinting an outer metallization.

Piezoceramic multilayer actuator and method for the production thereof

A piezoactuator has at least one piezoelectric-active partial stack with piezoceramic layers arranged one over the other with piezoceramic material and electrode layers arranged between the piezoceramic layers, at least one piezoelectric-inactive terminating region arranged over the partial stack and at least one transition region between the partial stack and the terminating region, the partial stack, the terminating region and the transition region all connected together to give a monolithic complete stack. The transition region has a transition region stack with piezoceramic layers arranged one over the other and electrode layers arranged between the piezoceramic layers both have a form and are arranged on each other such that, in the stack direction of the transition region stack, from piezoceramic layer to piezoceramic layer there is a successive rotation about a main axis of the polarity and/or a rotation of the main axis of the electric control is provided.
