Driver assistance system for the automated longitudinal guidance of a motor vehicle

A longitudinal driver assistance system is provided in a motor vehicle. A first detection system identifies a first event which, starting from an actual speed, leads to the specification of an increased target speed at a predefined location-dependent first moment in time, and for identifying a subsequent second event which, starting from the increased target speed, leads to the specification of a target speed that is reduced in relation thereto at a predefined location-dependent second moment in time. A second detection system identifies, in an anticipatory manner, a predefined deceleration potential starting from the increased target speed to the reduced target speed. A functional unit reduces the acceleration to the increased target speed if, otherwise, the subsequent deceleration to the reduced target speed with the predefined deceleration potential cannot be completed at the location-dependent moment in time of the second event.

Longitudinal driver assistance system in a motor vehicle

A method for overriding a driving mode in an automatic longitudinal guidance mode of a motor vehicle includes setting a longitudinal guidance mode in the motor vehicle, providing a target speed for a journey event in the longitudinal guidance mode, manually overriding the target speed when the journey event is driven through by the motor vehicle, and aborting of the longitudinal guidance mode if the target speed of the journey event cannot be achieved within a settable delay.

Override of route events in the automatic longitudinal guidance mode

A longitudinal driver assistance system in a motor vehicle includes a capture system configured to detect upcoming relevant events which require adaptation of a predefined maximum permissible top speed, and a functional unit which, upon detecting an upcoming relevant event, is configured to determine, based on a location of the upcoming relevant event, a first location or first time, the reaching of which causes the functional unit to output a notification to a driver of the vehicle relating to an automatic adaptation of the maximum permissible top speed. The functional unit is also configured to determine a second location or time to be reached after the first location or first time, respectively, the reaching of which causes the functional unit to intervene in a longitudinal guidance of the motor vehicle in a direction of a new maximum permissible top speed at the location of the upcoming relevant event if there is no driver-initiated refusal of the automatic adaptation of the maximum permissible top speed. Upon detecting the upcoming relevant event, the functional unit is configured to determine a third location or third time to be reached after the second location or second time, respectively, up to which point a driver-initiated refusal of the automatic adaptation of the maximum permissible top speed is permitted.

A longitudinal control system is provided for a motor vehicle equipped with a sensor system for detecting a traffic event lying ahead, in particular in order to locate vehicles traveling ahead, and a control unit for automatically controlling the speed or the acceleration of the motor vehicle to a standstill on the basis of the traffic event lying ahead. An automatic drive-off is allowed without a driver confirmation within a specified time interval after reaching the standstill, and after the time interval has expired, an automatic start-up is allowed after a start-up confirmation is triggered by the driver. A start-up confirmation is triggered if a contacted state of the steering wheel is detected starting from a non-contacted state of the steering wheel.

Longitudinal control system for a motor vehicle

A driver assistance system in a motor vehicle has a detection system for identifying events ahead that, on account of a currently valid speed limit being lifted, allow the current speed to be increased, and a functional unit for ascertaining an at least two-stage acceleration strategy for increasing the speed, wherein the first stage of the acceleration strategy can be implemented at most up to the location of the event ahead and the second stage of the acceleration strategy can be implemented at the earliest starting from the location of the event ahead. The implementation is started at a defined time and/or location before the event ahead is reached if the implementation of the acceleration strategy is permitted. In the first stage of the two-stage acceleration strategy, the acceleration profile to be implemented is ascertained and/or prompted depending on an identified defined acceleration behavior of a relevant target object travelling ahead.

Driver assistance system in a motor vehicle

A driver assistance system in a motor vehicle, by which system, when the cruise control is activated, a predefined target speed is maintained essentially constantly via an electronic control device and sensors connected thereto. Depending on a control error with respect to the predefined speed, a drive system and/or a brake system is actuated with the aim of compensating the control error. The electronic control device is configured such that when a coasting mode is present with the cruise control actuated the current speed is detected by way of the sensors and the coasting mode is maintained despite a target-speed-dependent maximum permissible speed having been reached.

Methods and compositions are described for the treatment of type I insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and other conditions using newly identified stem cells that are capable of differentiation into a variety of pancreatic islet cells, including insulin-producing beta cells, as well as hepatocytes. Nestin and ABCG2 have been identified as molecular markers for pancreatic stem cells, while cytokeratin-19 serves as a marker for a distinct class of islet ductal cells. Methods are described whereby nestin and/or ABCG2-positive stem cells can be isolated from pancreatic islets and cultured to obtain further stem cells or pseudo-islet like structures. Methods for ex vivo differentiation of the pancreatic stem cells are disclosed. Methods are described whereby pancreatic stem cells can be isolated, expanded, and transplanted into a patient in need thereof, either allogeneically, isogeneically or xenogenically, to provide replacement for lost or damaged insulin-secreting cells or other cells.
