Damper including a housing enclosing a working chamber and a compensating chamber, a damping fluid located at least partially in the working chamber, a guide and sealing unit, which terminates the housing at a first housing end, a piston rod sealed by the guide and sealing unit, and guided out of the housing, and a piston fastened to the piston rod and guided in the housing along the center longitudinal axis of the damper. The piston divides the working chamber into first and second part working chambers. Arranged at the end of the first and second working chambers, respectively, is a first and second closing element, with respective compensating channels, which form a through-flow connection between the respective working chamber and the compensating chamber. The piston device has at least one through-flow channel connecting the two part working chambers and having an adjustable effective flow cross-section.

Damper

A damper for damping a movement along a middle-longitudinal-axis, in particular for damping a seat in a vehicle, includes an outer housing extending along the middle-longitudinal-axis, a guiding and sealing unit closing a first housing end, a piston rod sealed by the guiding and sealing unit guided, an inner housing, which surrounds a working chamber, a damping fluid, a second housing end opposite the first housing end and a piston guided in the inner housing along the middle-longitudinal-axis and secured to the piston rod. The piston divides the working chamber into a first part-working chamber and a second part-working chamber. The piston includes at least one throughflow channel for connecting the chambers, an equalizing chamber arranged between the inner housing and the outer housing and a throttling channel integrated into the guiding and sealing unit. The throttling channel has a cross-sectional area comprising a length and an internal width.

A gas spring comprises a cylindrical casing, in which a piston rod is guided for displacement concentric of a central longitudinal axis. A damping piston is mounted on the piston rod, dividing the interior of the casing into two sectional casing chambers. A filling of compressed gas is provided inside the casing. A damping device is provided for velocity-dependent damping of a motion of stroke of the damping piston and another damping device is provided for path-dependent damping of a motion of stroke of the damping piston. The result is a gas spring of excellently controllable stroke behaviour.

Gas spring

A piston-cylinder unit, in particular a gas spring, comprises a substantially cylindrical casing with a central longitudinal axis, the casing having a first end with an edge that is bent inwards, a closed second end, and an interior space that is filled with a working fluid; a guide unit which is disposed in the casing in the vicinity of the first end and supported outwards by the inwardly bent edge; a piston rod which is coaxial to the central longitudinal axis and which is displaceably passed through the guide unit and which has a piston on the end of the piston rod that is on the side of the interior space; the piston-cylinder unit is characterized in that a plastic sleeve is mounted on the edge, enfolding the edge on the outside of the casing.
