The present invention relates to a fuel pump for pumping fuel, comprising a piston () and a diaphragm seal element (), which seals on an inner annular seal seat () and an outer annular seal seat (), wherein the following equation is satisfied: (Ra&#x2212;ra)/(ri+L)=ra/ri, where ri is the inner radius of the inner seal seat (), ra is the inner radius of the outer seal seat (), Ra is the outer diameter of the piston () and L is a difference between an outer radius (Ria) of the inner seal seat () and the inner radius (ri) of the inner seal seat (). The invention further relates to a method for operating a fuel pump.

Fuel pump having improved pumping behavior

An injection valve for injecting a liquid includes an electromagnetic actuator and a movable valve needle and a valve closing element that with a valve seating surface forms a sealing seat, and includes a perforated disc situated downstream from the sealing seat, the perforated disc having at least one inlet area and at least one outlet opening. An upper functional plane having the at least one inlet area has a different opening geometry in cross-section than a lower functional plane having the at least one outlet opening. The perforated disc has inlet areas, each provided, as a locally limited cavity, with a rectangular or bathtub-shaped contour, a respective outlet opening going out from each in the direction of flow, the outlet openings, going out from the midpoint of the respective inlet areas, and drawing an imaginary longitudinal axis and transverse axis through these, having an asymmetry as to both axes.

Injection valve

A fuel injector, in particular for direct injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, has a valve needle, which is situated in a nozzle body and is operable by an actuator, and a valve closing body, which is operatively connected to the valve needle and, for opening and closing the valve, cooperates with a valve seat face formed on a valve seat body, the valve seat body being provided with at least one spray hole. The at least one spray hole has a first cylindrical section having a fuel inlet opening and a second cylindrical section situated downstream from the first cylindrical section and having a fuel outlet opening, the first and the second cylindrical sections not running coaxially to one another.
